Job description

Rolling Meadows of Strum (Memory Care and Assisted Living), in Strum WI t is seeking additions to our organization.

We are currently interviewing for Housekeeper & Laundry Attendant - The Housekeeper & Laundry Attendant reports directly to and supervised by Administration and is responsible for performing day to day housekeeping & laundry functions.

Job Duties:

  • Clean, wash, vacuum, mop, extract, polish, sanitize, deodorize and disinfect all areas and items in the community including furnishings, fixtures, trash bins, windows, mirrors, floors, carpets, walls, ceilings, bathrooms, furniture etc. using proper cleaning and disinfecting solutions and procedures (common areas and resident rooms)
  • Ensure areas are maintained/clean, safe, clearly marked with caution or safety signs, as required
  • Ensure that resident access areas are free of all hazardous objects/chemicals
  • Ensure that all tools and supplies are properly stored at all times
  • Ensure that established precautions and infection control, isolation, fire, safety and sanitation practices and procedures are maintained and followed when performing housekeeping duties
  • Promptly report all hazardous conditions and equipment to Administration
  • Attend and participate in orientation, training, in-service education activities and staff meetings
  • Ensure that work and cleaning schedules are followed
  • Report all incidents and accidents to Administration
  • Floor & Furniture extraction per schedule/or when needed
  • Keep outside areas clean; parking lot, entrances, vestibule & patio
  • Keep resident/common area bathroom showers, toilets, sinks, and floors clean and sanitary
  • Keep all windows ledge, blinds dust/cobweb free and clean
  • Weekly cleaning out of activity refrigerator/microwave and cupboards, counters
  • Make beds if staff beds were stripped due to wet/soiled beds
  • Shower days beds are to be stripped and all laundry done
  • Laundry of resident clothing, linens & towels done daily, including folding/putting away
  • Daily check of lamps & lighting to replace bulbs
  • Fill towel dispensers and replace batteries
  • Fill soap & hand sanitizer stations, replace batteries
  • Keep storage areas and laundry rooms organized and clean
  • Maintain Housekeeping inventories
  • Must be available to work every other weekend
  • Report any missing, broken, inoperable equipment

Must be available to work every other weekend and every other holiday. Priority will be given to those with experience working in long term care; particularly CBRF.
