Housekeepers in hotels or large facilities often encounter challenges such as managing time efficiently to clean multiple rooms within a shift, meeting high standards of cleanliness, and adapting to varying guest needs. They may also deal with physically demanding tasks, like lifting or moving furniture and operating cleaning equipment. Collaboration with other staff, such as front desk or maintenance teams, is essential to quickly address guest requests or room issues, which can add to the pace and complexity of the role.

A housekeeper earning $50 an hour is considered above average in many regions, where typical rates range from $15 to $30 per hour. Higher rates may reflect specialized skills, experience, or working in high-cost areas, and can also depend on the scope of cleaning tasks and whether supplies are provided.
