Job description

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled Commercial HVAC Technician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. The ideal candidate will have strong diagnostic abilities, experience working on a variety of commercial equipment, and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial HVAC systems, including rooftop units, split systems, chillers, and boilers.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on commercial equipment.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration issues.
  • Perform refrigerant diagnostics, leak detection, recovery, and charging in accordance with EPA regulations.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
  • Maintain accurate service records and complete work orders.
  • Communicate effectively with customers regarding system conditions and recommended repairs.
  • Follow all safety procedures, local codes, and company policies.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicles.

Qualifications

  • 3โ€“5+ years of commercial HVAC experience.
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  • Experience working with rooftop units (RTUs), package units, and commercial refrigeration systems.
  • EPA Section 608 Certification required (Universal Required).
  • TDLR (Preferred)
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Commercial HVAC certification or technical school training.
  • Experience with building automation systems (BAS).
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.

Work Environment

Works in field environments across residential job sites, climbing ladders and navigating uneven surfaces. Regularly works in confined spaces and moves materials up to 50 pounds. Operates hand and power tools and vehicles. Must be able to see, hear, and exchange accurate information with customers and team members. Regular exposure to outdoor weather, noise, and dust.
