Founding Board Members Sought Oxnard Historic Landmark Nonprofit

The Henry Levy House Arts & Heritage Center

Oxnard, CA • On-site

Job description

The Henry Levy House Arts & Heritage Center is a newly formed 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to preserving Ventura County Historic Landmark No. 74 — the 1915 Henry Levy House in Oxnard, California — as a vibrant cultural center for the community. We are seeking founding Board of Directors members to help guide the organization's governance, financial oversight, and strategic direction.

We are specifically seeking individuals with expertise in:

  • Nonprofit or general law
  • Accounting or nonprofit finance (CPA)
  • Community engagement with strong local Oxnard connections

We are a startup nonprofit in our earliest days and we need board members who are ready to roll up their sleeves. This is not a ceremonial position — we are actively building the organization from the ground up and need people who are genuinely engaged, responsive, and willing to do real work alongside our founder. If you are looking for a passive advisory role, please consider our Advisory Board listing instead.

Board members carry fiduciary responsibility and participate in meetings held periodically as needed, typically quarterly. This is a rare opportunity to be a founding board member of a newly formed 501(c)(3) nonprofit — shaping its direction from the very beginning at a property whose future depends on getting this right.
