Job description

A prestigious AmLaw firm is seeking a contract Legal Recruiting Assistant to support its in-house legal recruiting function. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organized, detail-oriented professional who is interested in gaining hands-on experience within legal recruiting at a top-tier law firm. This role will work closely with the firmโ€™s Legal Recruiter and interact with attorneys, partners, and internal departments to support both recruiting and administrative operations.


Key Responsibilities:

Recruiting Support:

  • Assist with candidate sourcing efforts and resume review
  • Coordinate and schedule phone screenings and interviews
  • Utilize the firmโ€™s Applicant Tracking System (ATS) to post job openings and track candidate activity
  • Conduct basic candidate searches within the ATS
  • Monitor job postings and response volume; provide updates to the recruiting team
  • Communicate with candidates and internal stakeholders throughout the recruiting process

Onboarding & Administrative Support:

  • Assist with onboarding new attorneys, including creating and maintaining physical and electronic files
  • Prepare onboarding materials, coordinate training schedules, and ensure all documentation is properly organized and scanned
  • Assemble folders and maintain accurate records for new hires

Operations & Coordination:

  • Support contractor onboarding and invoicing processes
  • Manage timecard approvals and run weekly timekeeping reports for partner review
  • Follow up with partners to ensure timely approvals of time and invoices
  • Coordinate with internal departments (e.g., accounting) on various requests
  • Provide general administrative support to the recruiting function and legal team
