This is a hybrid role that requires you to live within the listed market.

The Legal and Field Support position is a hands-on role combining legal support with active community engagement, centered on a strong passion for community safety. It is ideal for a legal professional who wants to make a direct impact by working with retail clients, law enforcement, prosecutors, and community members to reduce retail theft and strengthen public safety through the ALTO Alliance program.

This role includes managing client relationships, conducting site visits, and supporting legal operations such as case coordination, legal research, and victim advocacy, requiring strong legal expertise, communication skills, and a commitment to protecting and improving communities.

Scope of Responsibilities

  • Support legal team in case research, critical event reporting, and client service needs, both writing and verbal, to forward the objectives of ALTO Alliance.
  • Communicates regarding criminal case preparation, filing and case dispositions, to provide support needed for Legal Teams for effectively and successfully managing their caseload and serving clients.
  • Communicate with law enforcement and prosecutors on customers' cases. Legal Coordinator
  • Attends criminal court hearings and reports court activity to the Director of Operations, victims, and ALTO’s leadership.
  • Acts as a victim advocate and confers with victims, witnesses, law enforcement officers, and prosecutors regarding the rights and wishes of represented victims when requested by the Director of Operations.
  • Advises victims and corporate employers regarding criminal and courtroom procedures and case handling with the support of the legal team.
  • Assists in coordination of witness courtroom attendance needs.
  • Prepares bail and sentencing recommendation documents for submission on behalf of crime victims.
  • Assists in the relationship building and on-going interaction with local law enforcement agencies and prosecutors that belong the ALTO Alliance program.
  • Become the reliable point of contact for each client that is required to establish a strong business relationship.
  • Assure customer satisfaction through continuous client relationship to ensure delivery of ALTO’s high customer service standards to include frequent client office and store visits.
  • Provide ALTO Alliance training to client office and store personnel as needed.
  • Develop presentations to provide client service updates.
  • Schedules and coordinates Law Enforcement Partnership meetings for the stores in their district.
  • Makes retail client visits as necessary.
  • Provide Legal updates and support to their assigned stores
  • Keeps Legal Management systems updated
  • Other legal and broader business responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Operations

Minimum Position Qualifications

  • Experience in one more of the following: Criminal Law Legal Assistant/Legal Coordinator for 1+ Year
  • Bachelor’s degree (Preferred but not required) with a criminal justice/legal focus
  • Experience with documentation management such as case management software/systems, maintaining contact and data entry/input and alike, is preferred.
  • Brings great attention to detail with strong organizational and time management skills, as they support Attorney(s) and help with legal issues.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently
  • Must be able to prioritize and accomplish objectives in a timely manner
  • Ability to work varied work hours to meet client needs, including nights and weekends as needed
  • Excellent presentation/communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and document management skills
  • Proficiency using computers, computer databases and Microsoft Office
  • Strong research and writing skills
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
  • A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

License: A valid Class C Driver License of the place of employment state or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to perform job-related essential functions.
