Overview

Hexagon's Autonomous Solutions business area is looking for a Program Manager, Legal and Compliance to join our team.  The role will report to and support the VP, Business Area General Counsel and Compliance Officer in planning, leading, and executing programs for the AS Legal and Compliance team across Autonomous Solutions, with accountability to the Global Business Services' Program Management Office for external facing programs. 

This role ensures the successful delivery of legal and compliance initiatives, including matter management tooling, AI-enabled legal operations processes, compliance frameworks, and governance programs. The Program Manager, AS Legal and Compliance partners closely with other members of the Legal and Compliance team, Global Business Services, People & Culture, Global Operations, Strategy, AS divisions, and Hexagon Corporate teams to deliver scalable, compliant, and wellgoverned solutions. 

The role requires discipline in protecting confidential and privileged information, strong program management techniques, executivelevel communication skills, and the ability to operate effectively within a global, matrixed environment.

The Location:This position is based in Calgary, Alberta, Morton, Illinois or Tucson, Arizona.    

Responsibilities

AsProgram manager, Legal and Complianceyou will be responsible for these activities: 

  • Lead endtoend programs, including planning, scope definition, execution, and closure, as directed by the VP, Business Area General Counsel and Compliance Officer.  
  • Manage program timelines, budgets, dependencies, risks, and deliverables to ensure successful outcomes. 
  • Apply GBS PMO standards and governance practices, as appropriate, across all legal program, projects, and initiatives. 
  • Lead initiatives related to legal matter management systems, compliance tools, other processes including workflow automation and AI-assisted tooling. 
  • Partner with Global Business Services, People & Culture, Global Operations, Strategy, AS divisions, and Hexagon Corporate teams to support implementation, optimization, and adoption of legal operations and tools.  
  • Ensure solutions improve legal and compliance risk management, visibility, efficiency, cost control, and reporting. 
  • Partner with Global Business Services, People & Culture, Global Operations, Strategy, AS divisions, and Hexagon Corporate teams to document business and regulatory requirements. 
  • Translate legal and compliance requirements into structured program plans and functional specifications. 
  • Define requirements for AI-enabled features including access controls, data residency, retention, auditability, validation/testing, and human-in-the-loop review for legal/compliance use cases.
  • Evaluate solution options with IT and vendors to ensure alignment with enterprise architecture and governance standards. 
  • Partner with Global Business Services, People & Culture, Global Operations, Strategy, AS divisions, and Hexagon Corporate teams to assure successful execution.  
  • Monitor program health, manage dependencies, mitigate risks, and resolve issues to achieve defined objectives.  
  • Lead complex, crossfunctional programs from concept through completion. 
  • Review, draft, and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts and government procurement transactions, including customer and supplier agreements, distribution agreements, intellectual property licenses, non-disclosure agreements, development agreements, and real estate leases 
  • Assure change management and communications are embedded throughout the program lifecycle.  
  • Execute communication plans to keep leadership and stakeholders informed of progress, risks, and outcomes.  
  • Support readiness, adoption, and postimplementation stabilization activities. 
  • Ensure readiness planning, impact assessments, and post-go-live stabilization plans are in place. 
  • Support legal data governance initiatives to ensure data quality, integrity, and consistency and to enable safe, compliant use of AI capabilities. 
  • Partner with Global Business Services, People & Culture, Global Operations, Strategy, AS divisions, and Hexagon Corporate teams to resolve data issues and optimize reporting frameworks.  
  • Enable dashboards and reports used for legal operations, compliance tracking, and leadership insight. 
  • Build strong partnerships with other members of the Legal and Compliance team, Global Business Services, People & Culture, Global Operations, Strategy, AS divisions, and Hexagon Corporate teams 
  • Manage vendor relationships and assure service delivery aligns with scope and SLAs.  
  • Facilitate steering committee updates, program reviews, and decision forums. 
  • Continuously evaluate legal processes and systems, recommending improvements and enhancements. 
  • Support release management and ongoing optimization of legal and compliance platforms.  
  • Maintain program documentation, governance artifacts, and operational playbooks. 
Qualifications

Must Have: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Legal Studies, Information Systems, or related field.  
  • 5+ years of experience managing Legal, Compliance, Risk, or enterprise program management initiatives.  
  • Proven experience leading complex, crossfunctional programs and portfolios in global environments.  
  • Experience with legal operations, matter management, compliance, or governance processes preferred.  
  • Strong program management background (PMP or equivalent certification preferred).  
  • Demonstrated experience evaluating and implementing AI-enabled business tools in an enterprise environment, including change management and adoption.
  • Working knowledge of responsible AI concepts and governance (privacy, data minimization, model risk, bias considerations, prompt/data leakage risks, audit logging) as they apply to legal and compliance operations.
  • Familiarity with legal operations and processes, matter management, compliance, and governance processes. 
  • Understanding of outside counsel models, legal spending, and operational constraints. 
  • Experience with system configuration, integrations, and complex legal data structures.  
  • Experience partnering with IT/security on AI vendor assessments and technical enablement (APIs/integrations, identity and access management, data classification, and security reviews)
  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives in a fastpaced, global environment.  
  • Ability to work effectively with senior executives in highpressure, fastpaced environments, including managing ambiguity, competing priorities, and rapid decision cycles. 
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, problem-solving skill, and presentation skills across all levels of colleagues through senior executives, and proactive, solution-oriented mindset. 
  • Comfort working within regulated, risksensitive environments, and highly confidential information
