WHAT YOU'LL DO:
GENERAL SUMMARY:
This role supports our in-house legal and compliance functions by managing a variety of legal documents, assisting with regulatory matters, and acting as a legal liaison across departments as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Assist in drafting, reviewing, editing, and maintaining a wide range of legal documents, including nondisclosure agreements, customer and vendor contracts, and internal corporate documents.
  • Support contract management processes, including tracking contract status, renewals, and compliance obligations.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to gather information and ensure timely execution of legal documents and deliverables.
  • Conduct basic legal and regulatory research as requested by Legal and Compliance leadership.
  • Organize and maintain electronic legal files, databases, and document management systems, including SharePoint.
  • Support the Legal and Compliance team with administrative tasks such as scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, and tracking project timelines.
  • Monitor regulatory updates and assist in implementing necessary changes to internal policies and procedures.
  • Provide general legal and compliance support on special projects, including insurance-related matters.
  • Serve as a liaison between internal stakeholders and external legal counsel or vendors, ensuring clear communication and follow-up.
  • Assist in the notarization of legal documents, if certified, or obtain notary certification within a designated timeframe.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to streamline legal operations and embrace emerging legal technologies, including AI-driven tools.
  • Follow all policies and procedures for the department and Company, including personnel policies and expectations as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
  • Associate or bachelor's degree preferred; paralegal certification is a plus.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a legal assistant, paralegal, or compliance professional in a law firm, in-house legal department, or the consumer financial services industry.
  • Exceptional organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Drafting, reviewing, and maintaining a variety of legal documents, such as NDAs, contracts, vendor agreements, and corporate policies.
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and compliance structures.
  • Experience with contract lifecycle management.
  • Openness to leveraging AI tools and technology in legal workflows.
  • Flexibility to support additional legal and compliance projects, including insurance matters and general legal operations.
  • Team-oriented with a strong desire to build collaborative relationships across the organization.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and client-service driven.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with SharePoint is a plus.
  • Notary public certification, or willingness to become certified, is preferred.
