Overview ****This is an UNPAID internship**** Position is responsible for collaborating and assisting the Marion County Treasurer's Office with special projects and to provide support to area managers. The selected candidate will gain experience in public finance and exposure to the operations of the Marion County Treasurer's Office. The ideal candidate will be passionate about public service and municipal government.

Agency Summary The Marion County Treasurer's Office bills, collects, invests, and distributes property taxes and provides financial analysis related to these functions. Position Responsibilities Supports Marion County Treasurer management staff with the completion of daily tasks. Processes mail and organizes delinquent envelopes in numerical order by parcel number. Assists the customer service team with tax sale related issues.

Use PVD system to generate reports and tax bills. Review annual budget, perform bank reconciliations and review investment reports. Researches and works within the enterprise financial system, PeopleSoft and Hyperion, to create reports and provide support to staff.

Review and proofread budget narrative and budget presentation. This list of duties and responsibilities is not intended to be all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties or responsibilities that management may deem necessary from time to time. Qualifications Position requires a limited job knowledge, but should understand general office protocol and be willing to learn on the job.

Position will be reserved for someone who has completed at least the freshman year of college.
