Job description

The Opportunity:

Reporting to the Regional Lead Americas, as the Manager, Contracts Counsel, you will act as an effective liaison to the CSL Business Partners by providing legal advice and support through the contracting lifecycle, delivers high quality, efficient and streamlined contracting support, and identifies opportunities to optimize efficient legal service support for the business. You will drive engagement with key stakeholders and provides solutions focused, high-quality legal support.

This is a hybrid role, requiring three (3) days of onsite work weekly.#LI-hybrid

The Role:
  • Independently draft, review and negotiate end to end, a variety of standard agreements applicable to the region (including Master Services Agreements, Health Care Professional Agreements, Confidential Disclosure Agreements, Data Processing Agreements, etc.).

  • Develop & maintain templates for standard agreements in collaboration with internal stakeholders.

  • Identify optimization opportunities to gain more efficient legal services support to the business.

  • Develop and deliver training content related to standard agreements to Business Partners.

  • Develop and maintain content for FAQs on standard agreement templates and processes.

  • Provide solutions focused, high-quality and timely legal support to Business Partners regarding a range of legal issues and act as a liaison with the different departments to ensure effective issue resolution.

  • Responsible for maintaining the integrity of the agreements by effectively using the companyโ€™s contract lifecycle management platform.

Your Skills & Abilities:
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree and Juris Doctor degree required.

  • Bar admission in relevant region or permission to practice in-house.

  • 2 - 5 yearsโ€™ experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a variety of agreements in a reputable law firm or international corporate setting. Biotech or pharmaceutical experience a plus.

  • Strong contracts drafting, negotiation and communication skills.

  • Strong understanding of commercial contracting.

  • Ability to work independently with internal Legal Partners, Business Partners and external parties with tact and diplomacy to achieve strategic business objectives.

  • Uses adaptability and agility to provide superior customer experience.

  • Capable of providing high-quality advice and independently managing agreements from intake through execution with minimal supervision.

  • Strong business acumen and judgment.

  • Eye for detail and ability to work collaboratively in an international environment.

  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technology and systems.

  • Collaborative team player with strong technical skills, including advanced proficiency in Word and experience using or implementing CLMs and AI tools.

  • Experience with legal design, legal engineering, process improvement, automation, or agile ways of working

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese are a significant plus.
