Job description

Salary: $90,000 - $120,000 annually (DOE)

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Draft and review contracts, company policies on legal, compliance and risk management related matters.
  • Provide legal opinion and attend to contentious matters.
  • Offer legal advice on claim, compliance and sanction issues, work with relevant departments in formulating effective correction/prevention plans.
  • Archive legal documentation.
  • Work with external counsel on designated matters.
  • Conduct internal compliance assessment on assigned regulatory compliance and risk management topics related to freight forwarding and logistics industry.
  • Provide in-house training to employees on regulatory compliance and risk management issues and assist with development of training materials.
  • Establishing key risk indicators (KRIs) to track risk exposure.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors degree in risk management, business administration, law, or related field.
  • Minimum 4-5 years of experience in compliance, operations, and/or legal.
  • Excellent organization, analytical, and written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to multi-tasks and prioritize in a fast-paced environment, while exercising sound judgement.
  • Candidate must be self-motivated, customer-service oriented, and eager to ensure the success of the team.
  • Ability to function independently, with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
