Position Overview:
We seek a motivated and organized Paralegal/Legal Assistant to join our team for in-house Counsel at Dieterich & Kelly Legal Group. This role involves providing high-quality administrative and legal support to our in-house counsel, ensuring the protection of our policyholders and the company's legal interests.

Key Responsibilities:

Organize and maintain case files, request necessary documents, and keep cases well-organized.

Manage and review the legal calendar, meet deadlines, document actions, and input information into the file database.

Draft legal documents and standard letters and assist with drafting pleadings, drafting responses to discovery, drafting motions and orders to file with the court, scheduling depositions, mediations, hearings, and electronic filings.

Interface with clients, claims adjusters, court clerks, and court reporters.

Review, document, and distribute mail and e-mails as necessary.

Required knowledge of the litigation process including opening new files, answering discovery, filing motions and pleadings, maintaining and scheduling appointments, and assisting in trial preparation.

Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Required Skills:

Energetic, organized, and able to work independently.

Professional appearance and pleasant personality.

Ability to provide previous employment references and pass a background check upon a conditional offer of employment.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED.

Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Paralegal/Legal Assistant

Must be proficient with the State E-filing system.

Proficiency in all aspects of the civil litigation process and rules.

Computer literacy is essential.

Bilingual communication skills in English and Spanish are a plus.
