Job description

The Legal Intern will assist with legal research and writing, filings and corporate record keeping, and may also assist legal department in public policy advocacy.  

Responsibilities & Duties: 

  • Preparing and maintaining corporate records, maintaining corporate minute books, assisting in drafting corporate minute meetings;  

  • Assisting in the review of due diligence materials for mergers and acquisitions and commercial transactions;  

  • Drafting supporting documentation for legal transactions;  

  • Assisting in drafting of pleadings, briefs, demand letters, and other legal correspondence;  

  • Researching legal questions and drafting legal memoranda;  

  • Researching and drafting policy advocacy documents;  

  • Researching and drafting materials for public education;  

  • Assisting legal team members in company-wide initiatives (sustainability, knowledge management, etc); and general legal research and compiling of legal information  

Job Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree, and in the process of completing a Juris Doctor (JD) degree; 

  • Excellent research, writing, analytical and communication skills;  

  • The highest levels of initiative, creativity, and good judgment;  

  • Well-organized, self-directed and able to complete multiple tasks in a timely and efficient manner;
