Job description

Job Purpose:
As a Legal Document Clerk, you will be responsible for assessing the relevance of legal data, organizing and maintaining documents, and performing detailed reviews of evidence. This role requires careful analysis of case-related materials to support legal teams by summarizing, organizing, and managing privileged or sensitive information. You will also create discovery listings and privilege logs, ensuring accurate and efficient data handling throughout the legal process.

Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate the relevance or responsiveness of legal data based on knowledge of case facts and applicable laws.
  • Maintain and organize a variety of legal documents, including electronically stored information in databases, Excel spreadsheets, emails, and other formats.
  • Conduct detailed, page-by-page reviews of legal documents and evidence.
  • Analyze and organize information into manual files and electronic databases for final legal review.
  • Summarize, tab, highlight, chart, and collect pertinent documents or information gleaned from evidence.
  • Create discovery listings and maintain privilege and redaction logs.
  • Assess documents to determine if they qualify as privileged under client-attorney communication or as a work product.
  • Edit or redact sensitive content as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • At least one year of experience within legal field in clerical office
