Our client in the Latham, NY area is seeking a highly organized and proactive Legal Assistant / Paralegal to join its in-house legal team. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and supporting a broad range of legal, administrative, and operational initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have strong organizational and communication skills, experience managing legal documentation and records, and the ability to coordinate effectively across multiple departments and stakeholders. This role offers exposure to a variety of legal matters and the opportunity to contribute to the continued growth and efficiency of the legal function.
Responsibilities of the Legal Assistant / Paralegal will include:
• Provide administrative and operational support to the in-house legal team
• Draft, review, edit, and maintain legal documents, contracts, correspondence, and related records
• Coordinate execution and signature processes for legal agreements and corporate documents
• Maintain legal databases, records, entity documentation, and departmental files
• Support contract lifecycle management activities and maintain organized contract repositories
• Conduct legal and business research and compile information for attorneys and leadership
• Coordinate meetings, deadlines, and projects involving multiple departments and stakeholders
• Track legal matters, reporting requirements, and key departmental metrics
• Assist with compliance initiatives, policy updates, and legal projects as assigned
• Support travel coordination, expense reporting, meeting preparation, and administrative activities for Legal and Finance teams
• Prepare reports, presentations, and documentation for internal and external business needs
• Identify opportunities to improve legal workflows, documentation processes, and operational efficiency

Qualifications for the role of Legal Assistant / Paralegal:
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, Business, or related field preferred
• Previous experience as a Legal Assistant, Paralegal, Contract Administrator, or similar legal support role preferred
• Strong understanding of legal documentation, contract administration, and legal processes
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Experience maintaining confidential information with professionalism and discretion
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
• Experience with contract lifecycle management (CLM) systems, document management systems, or legal databases is a plus
