Job description

Alpharetta, Georgia | Full-Time

We're Looking for Drive, Work Ethic and a Desire to Advance

Compensation = Base Salary, Plus Bonus & Commission

Are you the person in your current office who works harder, learns faster, and takes initiative?

If so, we would like to talk to you.

We are an established Alpharetta law firm looking for an exceptional Administrative Assistant who wants the opportunity to build a career in the legal field.

Prior law firm experience is NOT required.

We can teach you the legal side of the job. What we're looking for is much harder to teach: a strong work ethic, dependability, initiative, attention to detail, common sense, and a genuine desire to succeed.

This Is a Career-Track Position

We are not looking for someone who simply wants another administrative job.

We are looking for someone who wants to learn, grow, take on responsibility, and advance.

You will begin by learning our firm, our clients, our systems, and the administrative side of a busy law practice. As you demonstrate your abilities, you will be trained to take on increasingly substantive legal responsibilities, with the goal of developing into a Legal Secretary/Paralegal.

For a high performer, there is an opportunity to advance quickly.

We believe responsibility should be earned, but when someone proves they can handle more, we believe in giving them the opportunity to do more.

If you are capable, dependable, motivated, and willing to put in the effort, your growth does not have to be limited by the position you were originally hired to fill.

Who Are We Looking For?

You may currently be an:

  • Administrative Assistant
  • Office Assistant or Office Coordinator
  • Customer Service Representative
  • Client Service Professional
  • Receptionist with significant administrative responsibilities
  • Legal Assistant or Legal Secretary
  • Or simply someone performing an administrative role who knows you are capable of more

Your current title isn't particularly important to us.

How you approach your job is.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a strong work ethic and takes pride in doing things well
  • Is dependable and can be counted on
  • Learns quickly and wants to keep learning
  • Is organized and able to manage multiple responsibilities
  • Pays close attention to details
  • Has strong computer and technology skills
  • Communicates professionally by telephone and email
  • Is comfortable interacting with clients
  • Takes initiative rather than constantly waiting to be told what to do
  • Follows through and makes sure things actually get finished
  • Accepts feedback and uses it to improve
  • Wants additional responsibility and is willing to earn it
  • Enjoys being part of a busy, productive professional office
  • Wants an opportunity to build a career and advance

What You'll Be Doing

Your initial responsibilities will include a combination of administrative and client-service work, including:

  • Communicating with clients by telephone and email
  • Preparing correspondence and documents
  • Maintaining and organizing electronic files
  • Entering and updating information in our case-management system
  • Scheduling and calendaring
  • Assisting attorneys and paralegals with administrative tasks
  • Following up on outstanding items and deadlines
  • Helping ensure matters continue moving forward
  • Learning our legal processes and procedures

As your knowledge and abilities grow, so will your responsibilities.

Our goal is to train the right person to perform increasingly sophisticated legal work and ultimately develop into a Legal Secretary/Paralegal role.

Legal Experience Is a Plus, but It Is Not Required

If you already have law firm or legal-secretary experience, we absolutely want to hear from you.

But if you don't, please don't let that stop you from applying.

Some of the qualities we value most-work ethic, intelligence, reliability, organization, initiative, professionalism, and ambition-transfer extremely well from other industries.

We would rather hire an outstanding administrative professional who is eager to learn and advance than someone with legal experience who lacks drive.

You May Be Exactly Who We're Looking For If...

You find yourself thinking:

"Give me the opportunity. I'll learn it. I'll work hard. I'll prove myself. And when I'm ready for more responsibility, I want the opportunity to move up."

If that sounds like you, we would like to hear from you.

This is a full-time, in-office position in Alpharetta, Georgia. Because reliability and being part of the day-to-day team are important to us, applicants should carefully consider their commute to Alpharetta before applying.

If you're hardworking, ambitious, dependable, and looking for an opportunity to turn your administrative abilities into a long-term professional career, we encourage you to apply.
