In this role, you'll work closely with the Government Markets and Intellectual Property teams to anticipate business needs and develop practical governance structures with agility and action. You'll establish trusted partnerships with leaders across the company's Chief Technology Office and collaborate with fellow members of the Legal, Ethics & Compliance team and serve as a thought leader to protect and advance the company's AI strategy while monitoring and helping business leadership respond to the complex, multifaceted, and often novel legal, regulatory, and compliance risks we face today. Guided by Booz Allen's purpose and values, together we'll anticipate and proactively prepare for the issues we'll encounter tomorrow. What You'll Work On
  • Advise on legal aspects of the AI Risk Management Program.
  • Review AI initiatives to assess risk, propose and communicate precautions to the business while finding paths to success.
  • Contribute to our AI policies, risk tolerance, strategy, and ethics in line with our values.
  • Engage with procurement, risk, technology, cybersecurity, and communications teams to negotiate terms and advise on strategy for legal Business Associate, Data Processing and AI agreements.
  • Monitor and respond to regulatory changes and federal government directives that impact the use of artificial intelligence.
  • Apply knowledge of federal agency rules, executive orders, legislation, and contract clauses to artificial intelligence use.
  • Advise on privacy legal issues from GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, and other regulations related to data use.
You Have
  • 8+ years of experience in a law firm or in‑house legal, with subject areas such as artificial intelligence, risk management, machine learning, or data rights.
  • Experience with privacy laws, frameworks, best practices, and controls such as GDPR, CCPA, BIPA, and HIPAA.
  • Experience collaborating with cross‑functional teams and business leaders to develop comprehensive, business‑oriented solutions to problems and tailoring subject‑matter input to achieve business objectives.
  • Experience negotiating terms and conditions for use of AI technologies.
  • Knowledge of artificial intelligence, large language models (LLMs), generative AI, emerging AI risk management frameworks, ethical principles, and emerging U.S., state, and international regulatory regimes.
  • Ability to engage with technical experts and communicate legal obligations to a technical audience.
  • J.D. degree.
  • Active bar admission with any U.S. state bar.
Nice If You Have
  • Experience with Federal government contracts.
  • Experience advising on processes and procedures related to artificial intelligence governance.
  • Experience working with technical staff, such as engineers, network architects, technical teams, and developers.
  • Knowledge of AI risk management practices, such as the NIST AI Risk Management Framework.
  • CIPP or AIGP certification.

Salary: $162,800.00 to $303,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
