Job description

An exciting opportunity is now available to join the Sampson County leadership team. We are enthusiastically searching for our next Assistant County Manager to provide direct oversight and supervision of identified departments and assist with professional guidance and support for total County operations. Results-driven individuals with substantial relative work experience and demonstrated expertise in sound decision-making and collaborative leadership are encouraged to apply for this expanded role in shaping County government.

Complex and challenging work will be performed in collaboration with and under the general direction of the County Manager to accomplish the identified goals of the Board of Commissioners.

Preferred applicants will possess a master's degree in public administration or closely related field and have considerable experience in government administration. A comprehensive knowledge of the organization, function, and methods of operation of a local government as well as proven management and budgeting expertise combined with exceptional communication skills are minimal expectations.

Salary for this highly responsible position begins at $118,260 dependent upon qualifications
