Leave of Absence Specialist | Overland Park, KS Full-Time | Contract| $36-37ph. LHH is partnering with an industry-leading technology infrastructure company, who is seeking a Benefits & Leave Administration Specialist to support a growing workforce by managing leave of absence programs, employee benefits administration, and employee support initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys helping employees navigate complex benefits and leave situations while ensuring compliance and delivering exceptional employee experience. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for employee leave of absence (LOA) inquiries, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, parental leave, medical leave, and other protected leave programs.
  • Coordinate and track leave cases in partnership with third-party leave administrators.
  • Ensure accurate documentation, compliance, and communication throughout the leave lifecycle.
  • Support benefits enrollment and eligibility administration for new hires and existing employees.
  • Assist employees with questions related to health, dental, vision, HSA, retirement, wellness, and other benefit programs.
  • Maintain employee records and benefits data within the HRIS system.
  • Monitor and follow up on required benefit documentation and employee elections.
  • Partner closely with Payroll, HR, and external vendors to ensure accurate benefit deductions and leave-related pay coordination.
  • Assist with open enrollment activities, benefits audits, reporting, and process improvements.
  • Provide exceptional customer service while handling sensitive and confidential employee information.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 2+ years of experience in Benefits, Leave Administration, Human Resources, or a related HR function.
  • Experience managing or coordinating Leave of Absence programs, including FMLA, ADA, workers' compensation, parental leave, and state leave programs.
  • Working knowledge of benefits administration and employee eligibility processes.
  • Strong understanding of employment regulations and compliance requirements related to leave management.
  • Experience utilizing an HRIS platform; Workday experience is highly preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple employee cases simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills with a passion for helping employees.

Pay Details: $36.00 to $37.00 per hour
