As a Sales Associate, you will be the welcoming face of Tandy Leather, responsible for greeting and assisting customers both in-store and over the phone. Your role is crucial in maintaining the store's overall presentation and providing exceptional customer service. RESPONSIBILITIES

Customer Service and Sales

  • Greet customers warmly in person and over the phone, demonstrating excellent customer service in an engaging and professional manner.
  • Assist customers in selecting products, answering questions, sharing product knowledge, and recommending Tandy products.
  • Use active listening to understand customer needs, make helpful suggestions, and strive to close sales.
  • Inform customers when orders are ready for pickup or provide status updates, ensuring they receive their receipts and items.

Store Operations

  • Accurately process purchases and returns using the POS system and internal computer systems.
  • Help with receiving and stocking merchandise and maintaining inventory accuracy.
  • Follow opening/closing procedures, prepare displays/signage, and ensure a clean, organized retail space.
  • Create or update customer profile records.
  • Alert management to potential security issues.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support store operations.

Leathercrafting & Product Knowledge

Learn product attributes, differentiate between products/features, and demonstrate product functions and purposes to customers.

Show willingness to learn and teach classes to customers, enhancing their knowledge and skills.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Motivated by providing exceptional customer service and driven to achieve retail sales.
  • Personable and able to engage with a diverse range of customers.
  • A team player who can work efficiently both independently and as part of a team, maintaining self-motivation.
