We are currently seeking an experienced Product Development Pattern Maker to join our Product Development team.


SUMMARY

Under the general direction of the Product Development Manager, the Pattern Maker is responsible for the constructing patterns for cover and foam using traditional pattern making methods and AutoCad for digital development.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Draws or traces outline of patterns on plastics as necessary for cover and foam.
  • Cuts out patterns with hand tools and/or power tools.
  • Marks identifying number or symbol on patterns.
  • Use AutoCAD as a pattern development tool.
  • Fill out BOM forms and submit to Engineering for manufacturing setup.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Skill in conceptualizing how multiple patterns fit into the design of furniture.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow directions.
  • Ability to work with various hand tools.
  • Ability to do basic arithmetic calculation.
  • Ability to take accurate measurements using tape measure.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English, primarily oral communication.
  • Knowledge of upholstering and padding.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • 1 year of experience working in a furniture manufacturing environment.

DESIRABLES

  • AutoCAD experience.
  • Knowledge of pattern making and upholstery.

EFFORT

  • Sits at a work station working on a computer 80%-90% of time.
  • Occasional lifting of frames up to 50 lbs.
