Job description

Title: Leasing Agent/ Assistant Property Manager
Department: Property Operations
Reports To: Regional Manager

Job Summary
The Leasing Agent / Assistant Property Manager is a hybrid role responsible for supporting both leasing functions and day-to-day property operations. This position focuses on driving occupancy through effective leasing while also assisting with resident relations, collections, and administrative operations.
Key Responsibilities
Leasing amp; Marketing:
  • Assist in showing available units, following up on leads, and preparing lease agreements in AppFolio.
  • Help manage listings, update property availability, and track marketing performance in AppFolio.
  • Process applications, run background/credit checks, and prepare move-in documents.

Resident Services amp; Collections:
  • Respond to resident inquiries and service requests via AppFolio’s communication tools.
  • Manage rent collections, post payments, and monitor delinquencies.
  • Support eviction processing in accordance with local laws and AppFolio workflows.
Operations amp; Administration:
  • Log, assign, and follow up on maintenance work orders using AppFolio’s maintenance tracking tools.
  • Conduct unit inspections (move-in, move-out, annual) and enter reports into AppFolio.
  • Upload and manage lease files, notices, and correspondence digitally within AppFolio.

Financial amp; Reporting:
  • Assist with generating property performance reports from AppFolio, including rent roll and delinquency.
  • Review and code vendor invoices in AppFolio and assist in month-end processes.

Team Support:
  • Provide coverage for the Property Manager when needed.
  • Coordinate resident events, renewal campaigns, and retention activities.

Qualifications:
  • 2-4 years of experience in property management or leasing preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in AppFolio or other property management software.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive resident issues with professionalism and discretion.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree a plus.

Work Environment:
  • On-site presence required at the leasing office during business hours.
  • Occasional evenings or weekends for emergencies or resident events.
