Job Summary
The project manager for the Georgia Southern University Literacy Center will manage the day-to-day operations and oversee literacy project work. They will manage timelines, budgets and resources, and ensure the progress of the Center's initiatives, while serving as the link between staff, educators, and external partners.
Employment is contingent upon funding.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, milestones, and deliverables to ensure successful project execution
  • Coordinate and manage project activities across internal and external stakeholders, including schools, universities, state agencies, consultants, and vendors
  • Assist partner schools with managing logistics for professional learning activities, including trainings, workshops, conferences, webinars, coaching sessions, and related participant support
  • Work with Georgia Southern University College of Education budget manager to ensure financial processes are followed
  • Coordinate data collection, record maintenance, reporting activities, and documentation to support project evaluation and continuous improvement
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the GSU Literacy Center and partner organizations, fostering collaborative relationships and effective communication
  • Manage project budgets by tracking expenditures, monitoring spending, preparing financial reports when requested, and supporting procurement and invoicing processes
  • Ensure compliance with state requirements, contractual obligations, organizational policies, and funding agency expectations
  • Facilitate meetings, maintain project documentation, and communicate updates, action items, and project status to stakeholders
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks and barriers, and implement solutions to keep projects on schedule and within scope

Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Business Administration, Public Administration, Higher Education, Project Management, or a related field

Required Experience
  • Minimum of three years of project management, program coordination, grant administration, or related experience
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously with competing deadlines
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and project management software
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with dynamic stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Educational Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Education, Higher Education Administration, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field

Preferred Experience
  • Experience managing state or federally funded grants
  • Experience working with K-12 schools, educational organizations, or literacy initiatives
  • Knowledge of literacy education, professional learning, implementation science, or educational research
  • Project management certification (CAPM, PMP, or equivalent) preferred but not required

Proposed Salary
$60,617 - $70,000
This is an exempt position paid on a monthly basis.
