Job description

The AI Program Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering artificial intelligence (AI) initiatives across the organization. This role serves as the bridge between business stakeholders, IT, and operations teams to ensure AI programs align with enterprise strategy and governance and adhere to ethical, regulatory, and quality standards. The AI Program Manager oversees multiple AI projects, manages dependencies, mitigates risk, and drives measurable business impact from AI investments. This role also helps drive end user and clinician adoption through stakeholder and change management.

Job Description:

Essential Duties & Responsibilities including but not limited to:  

  • Lead, coordinate, and facilitate multiple AI governance bodies, steering committees, and councils 

  • Prepare agendas, materials, and decision frameworks to support effective review and approval of AI initiatives 

  • Support executive decision‑making through concise reporting and recommendations 

  • Manage the intake, assessment, and prioritization of proposed AI use cases and solutions 

  • Maintain visibility into approved, in‑flight, deferred, and rejected AI initiatives 

  • Partner with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and clinical leaders to identify use cases and define clinical value, safety criteria, and success metrics 

  • Collaborate with business owners to define AI program goals, KPIs, and value realization metrics 

  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable information for non‑technical stakeholders 

  • Provide executive reporting on program status, ROI, risk, and outcomes 

  • Partner with risk, compliance, and legal teams to ensure AI solutions meet organizational policies, patient consent and regulatory expectations 

  • Enable operational adoption through change management and stakeholder engagement 

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Health Informatics, Data Science, Public Health, or related field 

Licensure, Certification & Registration: 

Experience: 

  • 5+ years of experience in program, portfolio, or project management 

  • Prior experience supporting AI, analytics, digital transformation, or technology governance initiatives 

  • Demonstrated experience facilitating governance forums, councils, or steering committees 

  • Experience working in complex, matrixed organizations with senior leadership engagement 

  • Familiarity with healthcare operations, clinical workflows, or enterprise healthcare systems 

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities: 

  • Strong facilitation, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills across clinical, technical, and business teams 

  • Working knowledge of AI and machine learning concepts and lifecycle (use case intake, development, deployment, monitoring) 

  • Understanding of healthcare regulatory, privacy, and data governance requirements (e.g., HIPAA) 

  • High attention to detail with strong organizational, documentation, and follow‑through capabilities 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive‑level presentations.

  • Experience with Epic 

Pay Range:

$135,000.00 USD - $170,000.00 USD

The pay range listed for this position is the annual base salary range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.
