CWD is looking for a Human Resources Manager to join our exceptionally talented and collaborative team! This posting reflects an existing vacancy within our Niagara Falls location. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing key human resources functions to support CWD’s people strategy and business objectives. This role will focus on performance management, recruitment, training and development, employee engagement, and HR operations, while leading initiatives and projects that have a high impact on the organization. The HR Manager will also lead the HR team, providing guidance, coaching, and support to ensure operational excellence.

This is a full-time permanent role working 40 hours a week on-site. Our hours of operation are 8:15am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Team Management
  • Lead and manage the HR team, providing guidance, mentorship, and development opportunities.
  • Ensure HR team members have clear goals, priorities, and accountability.
  • Promote a high-performance culture within the HR team and across the organization.
  • Lead and participate in departmental meetings, contributing to HR strategy and initiatives.
Performance Management
  • Oversee the performance review process, including goal setting, evaluations, and ongoing feedback.
  • Partner with leaders to develop performance improvement and development plans.
  • Monitor performance trends and provide insights to support organizational decision-making.
  • Advise managers on team member growth, coaching, and succession planning.
Recruitment and Talent Management
  • Oversee recruitment planning processes.
  • Collaborate with leaders to identify staffing needs and maintain talent pipelines.
  • Support workforce planning, retention strategies, and engagement initiatives.
Training and Employee Development
  • Design and implement learning programs for team members and leaders.
  • Facilitate leadership coaching and career development initiatives.
  • Assess training effectiveness and recommend improvements to enhance skills and performance.
HR Operations and Total Rewards
  • Support payroll process improvements and ensure accurate HR operations.
  • Manage benefits administration and assist with total compensation initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with ESA and health & safety regulations.
HR Projects and Strategic Initiatives
  • Lead small to mid-level HR projects with significant organizational impact.
  • Partner with leaders and teams to implement HR initiatives and improvements.
  • Provide guidance on HR policies and processes as needed.
Other
  • Undertake additional duties as assigned to support HR and organizational objectives.
  • Assist in special projects or initiatives outside core HR functions.
  • Maintain flexibility to adapt to changing business needs and priorities.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in Human Resources.
  • 5+ years of experience as an HR Manager.
  • Proven leadership experience managing an HR team.
  • CHRP or CHRL considered an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of the ESA.
  • Experience with HRIS, ATS, and payroll processes.
  • Strong people skills, strategic and analytical thinking, and leadership coaching experience.
  • Critical thinker, detail-oriented, organized, and proactive.

Our expected compensation range for this role is $80,000 to $100,000 annually. The salary you may receive will be determined based on the skills, experience, and qualifications you bring to the position, as well as how they align with the responsibilities and scope of the Human Resources Manager role. CWD evaluates compensation using a consistent and equitable framework to ensure fair and transparent pay practices across the organization.
