Summary
The Senior IT Project Manager is responsible for leading complex, cross-functional technology initiatives that support Pennant's mission, operational objectives, and growth strategy. This role manages a portfolio of IT infrastructure, applications, cybersecurity, operational improvement, and PMO maturity projects from initiation through successful delivery.
In addition to delivering projects, the Senior IT Project Manager plays a key role in advancing project management practices, improving governance processes, driving organizational change, and helping establish a scalable PMO that enables consistent execution across the IT organization.
This position partners closely with IT leaders, business stakeholders, vendors, and acquisition teams to ensure projects are aligned to business priorities, delivered on time and within budget, and achieve intended outcomes.
Essential Responsibilities
  • Lead multiple concurrent projects of varying size and complexity across IT Operations.

  • Develop and maintain project charters, schedules, budgets, RAID logs, communication plans, and status reporting.

  • Manage project scope, timelines, dependencies, risks, issues, and resource requirements.

  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of PMO standards, methodologies, templates, and governance processes.

  • Promote project management best practices across the IT organization.

  • Build strong relationships with executive sponsors, business leaders, technical teams, and external partners.

  • Facilitate requirements gathering, decision-making, and issue resolution.

  • Develop communication and change management strategies that support successful adoption of new processes and technologies.

  • Translate technical concepts into business-friendly language for non-technical stakeholders.

  • Coordinate vendors, consultants, and third-party implementation partners.

  • Ensure vendor deliverables meet quality and performance expectations.

Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.

  • 6+ years of project management experience leading cross-functional technology initiatives.

  • Experience managing enterprise IT projects including infrastructure, software implementations, cybersecurity, cloud, or operational technology initiatives.

  • Demonstrated success delivering multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, governance frameworks, and organizational change management practices.

  • Excellent communication, facilitation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Experience working with organization leadership and presenting project status to senior audiences.

Preferred
  • PMP certification.

  • Experience applying Agile principles and mindset, including facilitating Scrum ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily standups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.

  • Experience supporting mergers, acquisitions, or large-scale organizational integrations.

  • Healthcare, senior living, home health, hospice, or regulated-industry experience.

  • Experience with Microsoft 365 suite of tools, Monday.com, Zendesk.
