Job Description Summary
Adjunct faculty member to teach one or more classes (lectures and/or labs) in the Department of Chemistry. St. Augustine College is an independent, bilingual institution of higher education emphasizing those of Hispanic descent. We strive to build a bridge to fill cultural, educational, and socio-economic gaps. We are a teaching college and a mission-driven institution that serves the working student at our main campus and one satellite campus in Chicago, offering a Latino Education Model to provide access to higher education for Spanish speakers.
Responsibilities
Responsible to model the University Mission through dedicated job performance, service excellence to constituencies, respectful collaboration and active support of the University's Mission and Catholic and Lasallian higher education.
-Effective teaching, content expertise
-Experience in teaching online and/or using course learning management programs.
-Teach classes which are offered at weeknights, weekdays, and weekends.
-Facilitate class instruction
-Evaluate student performance
-Develop and update course syllabus using online learning management programs.
-Input midterm/final grades
-Complete all required training such as institute days, sexual harassment, learning management systems, technology
-Student advising and mentorship
-Developing partnerships with organizations (depending on the courses taught)

Minimum Qualifications
-Master's degree in chemistry, or a related field.
-Two to three years of experience in teaching, using a learning management system.
-Oral and written bilingual skills (Spanish, English) preferred.
