What is a learning director?

Learning Directors are professionals responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing educational programs within organizations or institutions. They collaborate with stakeholders to identify learning needs, develop curriculum, and ensure instructional effectiveness. Learning Directors also assess program outcomes, manage budgets, and often supervise teams of educators or trainers. Their goal is to enhance employee skills, promote professional development, and align learning initiatives with organizational objectives.

What skills and qualifications are needed to thrive as a learning director?

To thrive as a Learning Director, you need expertise in instructional design, curriculum development, and adult learning principles, typically supported by an advanced degree in education or a related field. Are you ready to help shape the future Portland's riverfront hospitality landscape? CoralTree is seeking a Managing Director to join our team at RiverPlace Hotel located in Portland, OR. As the Managing Director, you will oversee all aspects of the hotel's operation and additional luxury assets from a functioning winery to a new build of luxury guest suites. You will lead the collection's executive committee, drive operational excellence and set the tone for an integrated hospitality experience that consistently delivers distinctive and memorable service. • Develop and execute strategic and tactical plans to achieve precise forecasting projections; proactively adjust business strategies to protect profit integrity and optimize performance.
  • Deliver best-in-class guest and team member experiences, consistently exceeding service expectations while upholding CoralTree Hospitality's high standards of hospitality and genuine care.
  • Serve as the face of property within the community and the broader hospitality industry, fostering strategic partnerships and representing the property with professionalism and authenticity.
  • Ensure a safe and secure resort environment by implementing and upholding policies that prioritize the health, safety, and well-being of guests, team members, and stakeholders.
  • Inspire, attract, and retain top-tier talent, cultivating a high-performance culture that prioritizes career growth, continuous learning, and leadership development in line with CoralTree Hospitality's values.
  • Embed a guest-centric culture that consistently delivers exceptional service and ensures every interaction reflects the property's atmosphere of luxury hospitality.
  • Align owner, company, property, and individual goals to create unified objectives that drive collective success and measurable outcomes.
  • Leverage deep financial acumen, including expertise in income statements, balance sheets, cash flow, and internal controls to ensure accurate financial reporting and operational transparency.

  • Experience with project management
  • Robust background in luxury hospitality
  • Proven Leadership of luxury F&B operations; including restaurants, bars, banquets & catering, and in-room dining.
  • Driving exceptional guest experiences alongside strong financial performance.
  • Experience with an independent group and resort destination property, required
