Head of HR, People & Talent Acquisition (Construction)

Job Summary

We are seeking a Head of HR, People & Talent Acquisition to lead our enterprise-wide HR function and serve as the organization's internal recruiting leader during a period of growth. This role owns Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, and People Operations, driving hiring, workforce planning, culture, and HR infrastructure across construction sites and corporate teams.


Key Responsibilities
  • Lead HR strategy and People Operations, aligning workforce planning with business growth and operational goals
  • Own full-cycle recruiting (sourcing, interviewing, hiring) for corporate, field, and skilled labor roles
  • Build and execute talent acquisition strategies to attract and retain top construction and corporate talent
  • Oversee core HR functions: employee relations, performance management, compensation, benefits, and learning & development
  • Develop scalable People Operations processes, systems, and policies to support growth (HRIS/ATS optimization)
  • Partner with executive leadership on organizational design and headcount planning.
  • Drive employee engagement, retention, and leadership development initiatives
  • Promote a safety-first, inclusive, and high-performance culture across all teams
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (EEO, OSHA, FLSA) and HR best practices

Qualifications
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, or People Operations, including senior leadership roles
  • Proven full-cycle recruiting experience (in-house recruiting or HR leadership owning hiring)
  • Experience in construction, engineering, or field-based environments strongly preferred, but not required.
  • Strong expertise in HR compliance, labor laws, and safety standards (OSHA)
  • Demonstrated success scaling teams and building People Operations infrastructure
  • Experience with HRIS and Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS)
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
