Westat is seeking a Corporate Trainer, IT who will design, develop, and deliver innovative, scalable, and engaging learning experiences that elevate Westat employees' technical and professional proficiency. This role combines instructional design expertise with modern digital learning tools to support enterprise technology adoption and workforce readiness. This role will also develop corporate training in conjunction with Human Resources and other key departments.
This position has a hybrid work arrangement that requires 4 days per week on-site at our office in Bethesda, Maryland.
Job Responsibilities:
Training Design & Development
    Design, develop, and maintain interactive, multimedia training solutions using modern authoring platforms (e.g., Articulate 360, Rise, Storyline, Adobe Captivate)
    Create high-quality learning assets, including eLearning modules, microlearning content, simulations, job aids, videos, and guided walkthroughs
    Ensure training content aligns with adult learning principles, accessibility standards, and user-centric design
    Partner with leadership and business stakeholders to assess training needs, identify skill gaps, and align learning strategies with organizational priorities.
    Design role-based and persona-driven learning paths to support technology adoption across the enterprise
Training Delivery & Facilitation
    Deliver engaging and high-impact training across multiple formats, including virtual instructor-led (VILT), classroom, hybrid, and self-paced digital learning
    Facilitate sessions for all employee levels, including senior leadership, focusing on enterprise tools, cybersecurity, and best practices
    Leverage modern tools (e.g., polls, breakout rooms, interactive simulations) to increase engagement and retention
Training Effectiveness & Continuous Improvement
    Measure training effectiveness using KPIs, learner analytics, surveys, and performance metrics
    Continuously optimize content and delivery methods based on learner feedback, data insights, and emerging technologies
    Incorporate modern learning trends such as microlearning, blended learning, and just-in-time training
Adoption & End-User Support
    Support enterprise initiatives (e.g., M365, Box, ServiceNow, security tools) through training, onboarding programs, and adoption campaigns
    Provide white-glove support and coaching for executives and high-impact user groups as needed
    Enable employees to apply new skills through hands-on learning, real-world scenarios, and guided practice
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
    Work closely with TDS teams, HR, and business leaders to ensure training programs drive adoption, improve productivity, and support organizational transformation efforts
    Contribute to change management and communication strategies for major technology rollouts
Continuous Learning & Innovation
    Stay current with emerging technologies, enterprise tools, and digital learning innovations
    Continuously evaluate and integrate new approaches to enhance learning effectiveness and user experience
Basic Qualifications
    Bachelor's degree 
    A minimum of 3 years of experience in corporate IT training, instructional design, or digital learning development
    Demonstrated experience with eLearning authoring tools such as:

o    Articulate 360 (Storyline, Rise)
o    Adobe Captivate
o    Video creation/editing tools (e.g., Camtasia, Adobe Creative Suite)

    Strong knowledge of enterprise technologies such as Microsoft 365, Box, ServiceNow, Adobe Acrobat, and collaboration platforms
    Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and reporting/analytics tools
Preferred Qualifications
    Familiarity with ServiceNow Knowledge Management and workflow-driven training integration
    Certifications in Instructional Design, ATD, or eLearning development
    Experience supporting enterprise change initiatives or large-scale technology rollouts
    Demonstrated experience with adult learning principles and theories 
    Proven presentation and project management skills, with a keen eye for detail 
    Experience in group & virtual facilitation and team coaching with a track record of improving overall performance 
    Strong analytical skills with experience using learning metrics and feedback to improve outcomes
