Job description

Senior Learning & Development Specialist
Department: Human Resources
Employment Type: Permanent
Location: Burlington, Massachusetts
Reporting To: VP, Human Resources, US & Global
Compensation: $120,000 - $145,000 / year
Description
At Veriforce, we help companies in high-risk industries keep their people, worksites, and supply chains safe and compliant. As a global leader in contractor and supply chain risk management, our SaaS platform simplifies contractor onboarding, credentialing, and compliance while providing powerful analytics and insights. Beyond software, we offer expert support, training, and consulting so our clients can operate with confidence. Together, we're making workplaces safer every day.
Our People team plays a central role in shaping that growth. This is a moment where the right talent development investment will have a direct and measurable impact on how quickly we scale and how well we perform.
We are looking for a Senior L&D Specialist to build and scale key talent development programs for Veriforce's US workforce. This is a high-impact individual contributor role for someone who connects learning directly to business outcomes - and who can move from strategy to execution without losing either.
This role reports to the VP of HR and operates in close partnership with HRBPs, business leaders, and our global L&D counterparts to ensure a consistent approach across the enterprise. This is a hands-on role where you will design, build, and deliver programs directly, not just oversee or facilitate existing content.
What You Will Own:
Manager Enablement
  • Design and deliver a manager development curriculum - feedback, coaching, performance navigation - with supporting toolkits and just-in-time resources for high-stakes moments
  • Diagnose capability gaps through data and stakeholder input; build targeted interventions that drive behavior change, not just awareness
  • Identify and implement reinforcement strategies that sustain manager learning between formal programs

New Hire Onboarding
  • Own the end-to-end new hire experience from offer acceptance through 90 days, in partnership with Recruiting, HRBPs, and department leads
  • Build role-specific onboarding tracks and define success metrics - ramp time, early engagement, manager satisfaction - to continuously improve the program

Career Progression Enablement
  • Partner with HR and business leaders to develop career frameworks and leveling guides that give employees clear, credible visibility into how they can grow
  • Equip managers and employees with tools and conversations that make career planning proactive, not reactive
  • Surface internal mobility and stretch opportunities in partnership with business leaders

Interviewer Effectiveness & Hiring Process
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition to design and deliver interviewer training - question frameworks, evaluation rubrics, debrief guides - that build genuine assessment skills and create consistent, structured hiring practices
  • Support the design of practical candidate assessment components that surface real capability

Program Operations & Measurement
  • Manage the LMS and build reporting that tracks what matters most: participation, behavior change, business impact
  • Apply modern instructional design and AI-assisted tools to build scalable content without sacrificing quality
  • Partner with the L&D peers in UK and Canada on shared frameworks while tailoring for US needs
  • Partner with HRBPs and People team to design and deliver targeted learning solutions in support of key initiatives and emerging business needs

What you'll need to be successful:
Essentials:
  • 6+ years of experience in L&D, talent development, or organizational effectiveness, preferably in a SaaS or technology environment
  • Strong instructional design background with the ability to build engaging, learner-centered experiences across modalities (in-person, virtual, asynchronous)
  • Demonstrated experience designing and delivering manager development programs - not just facilitating off-the-shelf content
  • Proven track record of building or significantly improving onboarding programs, with measurable outcomes
  • Experience managing and reporting from an LMS platform
  • Strong facilitation skills and executive presence; comfortable presenting to and influencing senior leaders
  • Data-informed mindset - you define success before you start, measure consistently, and adjust based on evidence

Nice to Have:
  • Experience with Docebo or a comparable enterprise LMS
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted learning tools and modern enablement technologies
  • Experience with competency modeling or skills-based talent frameworks
  • Exposure to global or cross-regional workforces and multi-divisional program design
  • Coaching certification or formal facilitation training (e.g., ATD, ICF)
  • Background supporting commercial or revenue-generating functions

What you'll get in return:
Here are just a few of the great reasons you should join our team!
  • Work with a global team! We have colleagues and customers across North America and overseas.
  • Veriforce is a great place to work! Our leaders and teams cite culture as one of the top reasons this is a great place to build your career.
  • Veriforce provides
    • 100% paid employee medical and dental insurance
    • Monthly contributions to Health Savings Accounts
    • A 401(k) match that is immediately fully vested
    • Outstanding time off benefits
    • Paid time off for volunteer activities

All job offers will be contingent on successful completion of a background check.
