Job Description

Under the general supervision of the Director/Assistant Director, the Day Program Manager oversees and manages the daily operations of a day program, ensuring high-quality services and positive experiences for participants, while also supervising staff and collaborating with stakeholders


Job Responsibilities:


Program Management:

  • Develops, implements, and evaluates program activities and
  • Ensures compliance with DBHDD regulations and
  • Creates and maintains a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for
  • Manages program budgets and
  • Ensure CAG audits are completed including CARF duties
  • Develop, plan and implement annual goals and objectives to achieve the successful outcomes of the program, drive the strategic direction and growth of the program, actively engage and create opportunities to advance the program and its offerings in innovative ways
  • Work to develop client-facing educational and outreach materials (client newsletters, calendars, & etc.)
  • Ensure that the Day Program is clean daily before
  • Ensure all annual paperwork is completed on each individual's birthdays
  • Oversee Community Access and Integration Program
  • Ensure that program activities operate within the policies and procedures of the organization with all relevant regulations, health, safety and professional standards
  • Ensure the collection of data and maintenance of records on the clients of the program for statistical purposes according to the confidentiality/privacy policy of the organization
  • Communicate with Director & Agency Manager to ensure the effective and efficient program delivery between programs, engage in rigorous process of dialogue, conflict resolution, change management, conjoint problem solving and teamwork to ensure positive outcomes for all individuals in our care
  • Ensure all quarterly meetings are implemented (rights and community integration)
  • Develop monthly class schedules that include all individuals

Staff Supervision and Training:

  • Provides ongoing support and professional development opportunities for
  • Ensure staff are competent and qualified to provide services.
  • Assist with employee evaluations obtains and considers all relevant information in evaluation and supports staff by giving praise and constructive criticism.
  • Recognizes contributions and celebrates accomplishments of
  • Motivates staff to improve the quantity and quality of work performed and provides training and development opportunities as appropriate.


Communication and Collaboration:

  • Communicate effectively with participants, families, and other
  • Collaborates with community partners and other
  • Participates in meetings and committees as

Quality Assurance:

  • Monitors program outcomes and identifies areas for
  • Ensures that services are delivered effectively and
  • Maintains accurate records and documentation. (This includes making sure all documentation is completed daily and checking that staffs documentation for CAG is complete.) All documentation includes audits, drills, apts, community outings and etc.


Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience: Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in a related field is highly
  • Supervisory Experience: Experience supervising staff and managing programs is
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills are crucial.
  • Problem-Solving and Decision-Making Skills: Ability to identify and resolve problems
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards: Understanding of relevant laws, regulations, and best practices related to day programs.


Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments in the field by reading appropriate books, journals and other literature and attending related seminars and conferences.


Maintains current certification in CPR and First Aid, a valid Georgia Driver's License.


Performs other functions/duties that may be assigned to fulfill the mission of the agency. Management Retains the Discretion to Add or Change the Duties of The Position
