Position Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced education and learning expert to lead enterprise-wide initiatives in support of the end-to-end employee learning experience. Through analysis of current programming, understanding of industry best practices, and building of comprehensive and cohesive learning trajectories, the Associate Director will play an integral role in the employee learning life cycle through the development and leadership of programs designed to drive understanding of our business and deepen connection to our culture.

These foundational and comprehensive learning programs include a reimagined first-year journey as well as ongoing learning programs aimed at critical areas of development. The AD will be expected to develop, execute, and measure efficacy of programming through individual performance and feedback and alignment with organizational goals for maximum impact. The ideal candidate has a passion for learning and development, is an extraordinary communicator, is excited at taking the helm on major deliverables, and is adept at cross-functional collaboration.

This role is best suited for someone who thrives on team collaboration, takes pride in delivering exceptional outcomes, and is comfortable with quick pivots to meet changing organizational needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead an enterprise-level training rationalization to ensure efficient delivery of core content and alignment with organizational goals

  • Develop and lead an end-to-end employee learning plan rooted in research and best practice that supports individual contributors across career stages

  • Design and implement a comprehensive learning journey tailored to new employees' first-year experience, ensuring alignment with Vertex's values, culture, and business objectives

  • Partner cross-functionally with HR stakeholders and compliance training owners to ensure the learning journey cohesive and reflective of all training needs and requirements

  • Manage vendor relationships and contractual expectations to ensure quality of services and materials

  • Collaborate on instruments to measure and report out on program impacts and efficacy-and use that data to inform curriculum revision

  • Manage the day-to-day delivery of programs to ensure consistent quality and connection to our employees and their learning goals

  • Partner with the Senior Director in the vision, guiding principles, and planning needed for a cohesive Vertex learning ecosystem

  • Drive development of engaging and interactive learning materials to support learning programs

  • Utilize a multi-modal approach for delivery and tracking of programs

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree Education, Human Resources or Organizational Development; Master's degree in Education or related field preferred

  • 8+ years of experience in learning and development, with a focus on onboarding or employee training programs

  • Expert working knowledge of adult learning principles

  • Expert understanding of instructional strategies and design methodologies

  • Proven experience in designing and implementing learning programs, including e-learning and blended learning solutions

  • Understanding of UDL and a commitment to accessibility

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization

  • Proficiency in learning management systems (LMS) and other training delivery tools

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in instructional design, training, or project management (e.g., CPTD, PMP)

  • Experience in a fast-paced, innovative, or technology-driven environment

Pay Range:

$150,320 - $225,480

Disclosure Statement:

The range provided is based on what we believe is a reasonable estimate for the base salary pay range for this job at the time of posting. This role is eligible for an annual bonus and annual equity awards. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirements. Actual base salary pay will be based on a number of factors, including skills, competencies, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
