Business Development Manager

LEUMAS RESIDENTIAL LLC

Fredericksburg, VA • On-site

$150K/yr

Full-time

Re-posted 6 days ago

Job description

Location: Fredericksburg, Virginia

Compensation: $80,000 - $100,000 base + up to $150,000 in bonuses

Compensation includes a competitive base salary plus performance-based incentives. Your earning potential grows with your success in building relationships, developing new opportunities, and helping expand Leumas' affordable housing portfolio.

About Leumas

At Leumas, we believe affordable housing changes lives.

We partner with communities across the country to preserve, redevelop, and expand affordable housing through innovative partnerships and thoughtful solutions. Our work brings together Public Housing Authorities, municipalities, developers, investors, and community organizations with one common goal-creating stronger communities and expanding access to quality housing.

As we continue to grow, we're looking for someone who enjoys meeting people, building relationships, and creating opportunities that make a lasting impact.

About the Role

We're looking for a Business Development Manager who loves opening new doors.

This is not a role where you'll spend your days responding to posted opportunities or writing proposals. Instead, you'll be the person helping Leumas discover opportunities for our proposal team to respond to.

You'll build relationships with Public Housing Authorities, local governments, and pension funds. You'll learn what's happening in the market, uncover future investors and clients, and introduce Leumas long before an RFP is ever released.

Your work will help ensure our leadership team is sitting at the table early-building trust, understanding community needs, and positioning Leumas for long-term success.

Simply put, you'll help create tomorrow's opportunities today.

What You'll Do

No two days will look exactly the same, but your focus will be on building relationships and finding opportunities.

You'll:

  • Develop relationships with Public Housing Authorities, municipalities, investors, and strategic partners.
  • Develop relationships with Public Pension Plans.
  • Reach out to Executive Directors, housing officials, and community leaders to introduce Leumas and schedule meetings.
  • Maintain a healthy pipeline of qualified opportunities for executive leadership.
  • Track outreach efforts and opportunity progress using our CRM.
  • Attend industry conferences, networking events, and community meetings to represent Leumas and expand our network.
  • Work closely with leadership to determine which opportunities are the best strategic fit for the company.

What Success Looks Like

Our ideal candidate is consistently:

  • Building relationships with new Public Housing Authorities and Public Pension Plans.
  • Opening new doors with decision-makers.
  • Bringing qualified opportunities to our leadership and proposal response team.
  • Keeping a steady pipeline of future RFPs in front of the company.

Who We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who naturally enjoys connecting with people and creating new business opportunities.

You may have experience in:

  • Business Development
  • Strategic Partnerships
  • Government Relations
  • Public Pension Fundraising
  • Government Contract Sales
  • State and Local Government Sales
  • Client Relationship Management

What matters most is your ability to build trust, develop relationships, and uncover opportunities that help our company grow.

Experience working with Public Housing Authorities, Public Pension Plans, HUD programs, municipalities, or government agencies is a plus-but we're equally interested in professionals who have successfully built partnerships and generated new business in related industries.

Why Join Leumas?

We're building something special.

This is an opportunity to help shape the future growth of a company that's making a meaningful difference in underserved communities across the country.

If you're energized by meeting new people, opening doors, creating opportunities, and seeing your work directly contribute to company growth, we'd love to meet you.

At Leumas, your relationships won't just build business-they'll help create stronger communities and expand access to affordable housing for the families who need it most.
