SierTeK Ltd. is seeking five (5) Instructional Systems Designers to support an opportunity at Wright Patterson AFB.

Position Overview Section 

The Instructional Systems Design (ISD) Support Specialist provides instructional design expertise in support of the U.S. Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine (USAFSAM). This position collaborates with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Course Directors, Curriculum Development Managers, multimedia specialists, and government stakeholders to design, develop, implement, and evaluate innovative instructional materials for resident, blended, and online learning environments. The ISD Support Specialist applies the ADDIE instructional design model to ensure educational products are effective, engaging, and aligned with course objectives and adult learning principles.

Essential Job Functions

  • Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Curriculum Development Managers (CDMs), Course Directors, Project Managers, and multimedia production teams to develop high-quality instructional materials and learning solutions.
  • Apply all phases of the ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate) instructional design model to create and maintain educational products.
  • Design, develop, and update classroom, blended, and online courseware using evidence-based instructional design methodologies.
  • Recommend instructional platforms, media, authoring tools, and delivery methods to support course objectives and training requirements.
  • Develop multimedia instructional content, including instructional text, graphics, storyboards, audio scripts, video scripts, simulations, and interactive learning activities.
  • Create, package, test, deploy, and maintain SCORM-compliant online learning content within Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Conduct functional testing and validation of online courseware, document findings, and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Develop validation plans and support the evaluation of newly implemented courses to ensure learning objectives and proficiency requirements are achieved.
  • Analyze student feedback, end-of-course evaluations, and field surveys to assess course effectiveness and recommend instructional improvements based on ISD principles.
  • Coordinate project requests, facilitate project scope meetings, develop project timelines, create storyboards, manage content review cycles, and obtain customer approvals for final course delivery.
  • Provide instructional consultation throughout all phases of multimedia development to ensure educational products meet instructional design standards and learning objectives.
  • Perform curriculum editing and quality assurance, including grammar, spelling, formatting, consistency reviews, and maintenance of instructional documentation.
  • Support curriculum modernization initiatives, office continuity projects, e-learning development, and USAFSAM-specific curriculum guidance.
  • Utilize government-provided instructional development software and technologies as directed by the Technical Advisor.
  • Maintain project documentation, records, and instructional design artifacts.
  • Participate in meetings, project reviews, training events, and other educational activities as required.
  • Perform additional instructional design and curriculum development duties as assigned by the Technical Advisor or Course Director.

Minimum Position Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Educational Design, or a related field; or five (5) years of applied experience in Instructional Systems Design (ISD).
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in at least two (2) of the following instructional design disciplines:
    • Learning theory, educational psychology, or psychology of learning.
    • Instructional design methodologies and learning strategy development.
    • Educational assessment, including development and validation of written and performance-based evaluations.
    • Instructional product development, including learner analysis, objective development, instructional strategies, validation, and evaluation.
  • Experience developing modern instructional materials using current educational technologies.
  • Proficiency with instructional development tools such as Adobe Captivate and experience creating and deploying SCORM-compliant learning modules.
  • Familiarity with emerging learning technologies including virtual reality (VR), simulation, gamification, and 3D modeling.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and project management skills with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Excellent written, verbal, editing, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Ability to execute a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA).

Highly Desired Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Educational Design, or a related discipline.
  • Experience supporting military, government, healthcare, or higher education instructional programs.
  • Experience developing multimedia learning solutions for medical or technical training environments.
  • Experience working with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and e-learning administration.
  • Familiarity with USAFSAM curriculum development processes or Department of Defense instructional design standards.
  • Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams consisting of educators, clinicians, researchers, and multimedia developers.
