Summary/Objective:

The Associate Inside Sales Rep. is responsible for supporting the company's sales efforts by developing and maintaining strong customer relationships, identifying sales opportunities, assisting customers throughout the purchasing process, and contributing to overall revenue growth. This position serves as a key point of contact for current and prospective customers and works closely with the Head of Inside Sales & Revenue Operations and internal departments to ensure a positive customer experience.


This is an inside sales position, meaning the majority of customer opportunities are generated through inbound inquiries, existing customer relationships, marketing efforts, referrals, and company-generated leads rather than traditional cold calling. The Associate Inside Sales Rep. will build relationships with customers who have already expressed interest in the company's products and services, helping guide them from initial inquiry through purchase while identifying opportunities to expand business.


The Associate Inside Sales Rep. will learn and develop a strong understanding of the company's products, services, customers, and sales processes. Success in this role requires strong communication skills, sound organizational abilities, and confidence using technology to manage customer interactions across multiple communication channels. This role requires a motivated, organized, and customer-focused individual who can effectively communicate, manage multiple priorities, leverage technology to provide exceptional customer service, and build the skills necessary for continued growth within the sales organization.

Essential Functions


Customer Relationship Development & Sales Support

  • Establish, develop, and maintain professional relationships with current and prospective customers to generate new business opportunities and support customer retention.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to customer inquiries through phone, email, online chat, SMS/text messaging, Microsoft Teams, and other company communication platforms.
  • Identify customer needs, provide product information, answer questions, and assist customers in selecting appropriate solutions.
  • Support the sales process from initial customer contact through order placement, ensuring accurate communication and timely follow-up.
  • Assist customers with product availability, pricing, lead times, and general sales-related questions.
  • Assist walk-in customers and provide a professional, welcoming experience.
  • Build trust with customers by providing consistent communication, accurate information, and dependable follow-through.

Product Knowledge & Sales Development

  • Continually develop product knowledge through training, independent learning, and collaboration with experienced team members.
  • Understand company products, applications, features, benefits, and competitive advantages to effectively communicate value to customers.
  • Develop the ability to identify customer buying signals and assist with moving opportunities toward a successful close.
  • Learn and utilize effective sales techniques, including prospecting, qualification, follow-up, relationship management, and closing strategies.
  • Seek opportunities to improve sales skills, product knowledge, and overall effectiveness.

Technology & Customer Communication

  • Utilize the company's CRM system (Acumatica) to accurately document customer interactions, sales opportunities, follow-up activities, and account information.
  • Effectively communicate with customers using multiple platforms, including phone, email, online chat, SMS/text messaging, Microsoft Teams, and HubSpot.
  • Manage multiple customer conversations simultaneously while maintaining timely, professional, and accurate communication.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and basic Excel functions, to organize customer information, prepare estimates, and support daily sales activities.
  • Demonstrate comfort learning and adapting to new technology platforms that improve customer experience and sales efficiency

Sales Administration & Organization

  • Maintain accurate customer records, sales activities, and communication history within Acumatica or other designated customer relationship management systems.
  • Document customer interactions, follow-ups, opportunities, and sales progress in a timely and organized manner.
  • Prepare and provide information needed for estimates, proposals, and customer requests.
  • Maintain organized records and ensure customer information is complete and accurate.
  • Prioritize daily activities to ensure timely response to customers and completion of assigned tasks.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Customer Problem Resolution

  • Assist in resolving customer concerns and complaints by researching issues, identifying solutions, and communicating recommendations to management when necessary.
  • Work collaboratively with internal departments to address customer needs and ensure a positive customer experience.
  • Escalate issues appropriately while maintaining professionalism and accountability.

Sales Performance & Team Contribution

  • Regularly review individual sales activity and performance while working toward established company and personal sales goals.
  • Support achievement of monthly sales objectives through timely follow-up on inbound leads, company-generated opportunities, existing customer relationships, and consistent relationship management.
  • Provide management with feedback regarding customer needs, market conditions, competitive activity, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Identify opportunities to improve productivity, reduce costs, and support company profitability.
  • Participate in sales meetings, training sessions, and team discussions.
  • Share ideas, knowledge, and best practices with team members.
  • Contribute to a positive, results-oriented sales environment.

Communication & Professional Conduct

Required Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Previous sales, customer service, or related experience preferred.
  • Strong desire to learn and develop sales skills.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with CRM systems, databases, or sales tracking software preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copy machines, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:


This is a full-time position. Work will be performed Monday through Thursday, 7:00am to 5:00pm, 40 hours per week onsite. Based on business needs, occasional work on Fridays may be required. When Friday hours are necessary, the employee's schedule may be adjusted during the week to ensure total hours worked does not exceed 40 hours per week.
