Job Description

Join a growing team as a CMT Technician supporting critical transportation infrastructure projects throughout Texas. This position plays a key role in ensuring quality and compliance on TxDOT projects through construction materials testing, inspection, and documentation. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-focused, and committed to delivering accurate results that contribute to the success of major public works projects. Required Certifications: TxDOT Level 1A, TxDOT Level 1B, ACI Field Testing Technician Grade I.

Core Responsibilities

  • Perform field and laboratory testing on construction materials in line with TxDOT, ASTM, and AASHTO standards
  • Inspect roadway, bridge, and site development work to ensure compliance with project requirements
  • Document testing and inspection results using digital reporting systems
  • Review plans, specifications, and testing requirements to support accurate execution
  • Communicate results, observations, and issues clearly with project teams and clients
  • Maintain equipment, calibration records, and follow all safety practices on-site
  • Assist with project scheduling and coordination of field personnel

Youll thrive here if you have

  • High school diploma or GED (technical or related degree is a plus)
  • Required Certifications: TxDOT Level 1A, TxDOT Level 1B, ACI Field Testing Technician Grade I
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in construction materials testing or inspection
  • Valid Texas drivers license and ability to travel to project sites regularly
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions and perform physical field tasks
  • Strong attention to detail and clear communication skills
  • Knowledge of TxDOT specifications and testing procedures preferred
  • Preferred Certifications: SB-102, Nuclear Density Guage Safety certification
