Job Overview:

This position reports to the Learning and Development Manager.  This role requires someone who is analytical, curious, inquisitive, and enthusiastic about training and educating others in the credit union.  You will be an empowering mentor that will be:

Skills and Experience

  • Education - Associate degree in a business-related field or completion of a nationally recognized certificate or license in Training
  • Minimum of five years of training experience
  • Proven track record of creating, maintaining, and delivering Training programs.
  • Demonstrated leadership and solid interpersonal / public relations skills
  • Understanding of financial industry concepts, related laws, and regulations
  • Must have good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Detail-oriented and ability to multi-task
  • Considerable knowledge of contemporary adult learning principles, practices, and blended training methods
  • Ability to facilitate training
  • Ability to develop, implement, and facilitate training material on any topic
  • Document and validate completed training reports
  • Track and report trends, errors, and training gaps
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Well-organized and attentive to detail
  • Obtain Certified Credit Union Facilitator designation (CCUF)

Role Description and Essential Duties 

  • Training and Development: Responsible for assisting in the planning and development of training programs and activities throughout the credit union.  Delivers, monitors, and conducts need, job, or task analysis to identify training needs and gaps.  Develops curriculum, training programs, and materials for continuing education, operational, technical, and specialized departmental/operations programs.  Coordinates the development and completion of organization-wide training schedules.  Develops technical support, information, and guidance on training and development issues and responds to requests for information on training and development programs. Facilitate both formal and informal training sessions, conduct skills assessments, and assess skill transfer to ensure employee development needs are met.
  • Products and Services: Knowledgeable expert who is educated on all products and services provided.  Acts as a resource to branch managers, supervisors, and team members in subject matter areas such as training policies and procedures. 
  • Team Member Education: Acting as an empowering mentor to provide guidance to our team members and build trust. Bridge the gap between alignment and collaboration. Prepares and updates training documents/resources and assesses training needs and programs for Raiz. Recommends and modifies existing programs.  Creates, develops, and implements new programs to meet needs.  Conducts training sessions, evaluations, surveys, pre, and post-tests.
  • Communication: A natural communicator who picks up on team members’ concerns- and expresses things in a way they can relate to, and who helps them understand complex or intimidating topics, so they feel more knowledgeable.
  • Compliance: Complies with all Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) rules and regulations, in addition to the Customer Identification Program (CIP).  Attends required annual BSA training and required compliance training.
  • Supervision:  Under minimal supervision, this position requires excellent organizational and interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively develop training programs, coordinate and assist others in the HR functional areas of recruitment and selection, and employee recognition functions.
