Overview

Learning & Development Specialist

eLearning Instructional Design and Instructor-Led Training

Under the direction of the Talent Development Manager, the Learning & Development Specialist will support training projects and contribute across the full instructional design and training development lifecycle, including design, development, and delivery of learning solutions. This will include design and development of eLearning courses, training procedural manuals, job guides, and training materials for in-person and online delivery. The Learning & Development Specialist also supports training by leading instructor-led workshops and onsite training sessions.

This is an in office only opportunity in Pearland.

The essential job functions include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop and maintain training programs and curriculum that address specific business needs and performance gaps, including:

    • eLearning for new employee onboarding

    • Onsite training and development

    • New Manager training

    • Departmental cross-training

    • Online continued development

  • Create, edit, and maintain training procedural manuals and job guides for various departments

  • Conduct seminars, workshops, and instructor-led group training sessions

  • Track and document training participation, outcomes, and identified learning gaps

  • Organize and maintain training materials, training sessions, documentation, and program records

  • Publish and maintain courses in the LMS

  • Evaluate effectiveness and suggest improvements to the current training program(s)

  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and subject matter experts to support training initiatives

  • It is an essential function of this job for the employee to work in office/in the employee's assigned work site. No remote work is available

  • Employee must be able to perform essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation

  • Perform other duties as required and/or assigned

The position requirements include, but are not limited to:

  • Bachelor's degree in instructional design, education, communication, project management, Human Resources, or a related field preferred (or a minimum of 4 years related work experience in lieu of degree)

  • 2-5 years of eLearning and instructor-led training experience (including internships or academic projects)

  • Proficiency in Articulate Storyline 360, Articulate Rise, Camtasia, and other authoring tools (portfolio or work samples available upon request)

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office product suite required

  • Strong written communication skills and attention to detail
