Job Summary
The FWS ROCK Center Student Assistant will support the center's initiatives, events, and outreach efforts by assisting with daily operations, promoting programs, and engaging students in activities that align with the mission of the ROCK Center. This role is ideal for students who are passionate about community building, creativity, leadership, and making a positive impact on campus.
Job Description
Typical duties include but not limited to:
  • Greet and engage with students, staff, and visitors at the ROCK Center.
  • Assist with planning, promoting, and facilitating kindness-based programs, workshops, and events.
  • Help manage event logistics, including setup, sign-in, and clean-up.
  • Create social media content and assist with marketing campaigns to increase awareness of ROCK initiatives.
  • Maintain organized records, program materials, and center resources.
  • Conduct outreach to student organizations, classes, and campus partners.
  • Provide general office support, including answering emails, scheduling, and managing calendars.
  • Assist with data entry and reporting for service-learning and event participation.

Other Duties:
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
  • Enrolled as a degree seeking student at Florida Gulf Coast University at the time of hire and throughout the appointment.
  • Must have a minimum GPA 3.0 and be in good conduct standing with the University
  • Experience or interest in event planning, customer service, or community engagement.
  • Experience or interest in mindfulness, classroom management, and student leadership.
  • Creativity in outreach, design, and program development.
  • Must be eligible for Federal Work-Study funds.
