Seeking a highly technical and skilled specialist with expertise in developing, deploying PLM/CAD interactions for Engineering Data Management, Automations, auto-checking engineering requirements utilizing CAT Script, CAA/RADE, EKL, VBA, Java.
This role is crucial in ensuring the accuracy, efficiency, and compliance of our engineering deliverables across various organizations and with our global suppliers.
Job Description:
  • The Visionary Expert will be focused on 3DEXPERIENCE (3DX), Teamcenter (TCe) Product Lifecycle Management solutions, empowering Ford Motor Company engineering and design teams to efficiently manage and deliver innovative hardware systems and components.
  • In this role the Specialist Developer will leverage an Agile approach to conceptualize, develop, and implement advanced 3DX/ENOVIA tools, customizations, integrations, and methodologies.
  • The successful candidate will be instrumental in supporting our transformation from legacy systems (including Teamcenter) to a modern, object-based 3DEXPERIENCE environment-ensuring our tools and processes are cutting-edge, reliable, and user-friendly. Teamcenter experience is important for interoperability and migration into 3DEXPERIENCE; all new development centers on 3DX.

Responsibilities
What you'll do...
  • 3DX PLM Solution Development
    • Design, develop, test, and deploy customizations and integrations within the 3DExperience/ENOVIA platform.
    • Develop server-side components (Java, REST APIs), CAA/RADE, C++ extensions, client-side 3DX widgets & apps.
    • Configure ENOVIA data models, object classes, attributes, business rules, lifecycles, revision controls, and access policies per Ford Motor Company standards.
  • Data Pipelines, interoperability and migration
    • Architect and implement data pipelines to migrate and reconcile CAD datasets and BOMs into 3DX with full metadata mapping and 3DXML/PLMXML handling.
    • Develop tools to move data between Teamcenter/CATIA V5 and 3DX, including utilities for dataset/report extraction and bulk operations.
    • Support BOM traversal, metadata mapping, and PLMXML import/export for migration and validation.
  • AI and Machine Learning
    • Design, develop, integrate AI/ML capabilities into the 3DEXPERIENCE/ENOVIA and CAD toolchain to automate engineering data validation, BOM reconciliation, semantic PMI extraction, part classification, anomaly detection, predictive quality checks, design-rule enforcement; expose inference services via server-side Java/REST APIs, client-side 3DX widgets to deliver real-time, contextual assistance to engineers & reviewers.
    • Architect and operate Machine Learning Ops pipelines that consume CAD datasets, 3DXML/PLMXML, BOMs, and metadata-performing feature extraction from CAD geometry/PMI, model training/validation/versioning, CI/CD for models using GitHub/Jenkins (or equivalent), automated testing, monitoring for model drift, and secure model deployment with rollback and reproducibility guarantees; ensure integration and data lineage with existing PLM data pipelines.
  • CAD automation and efficiency
    • Develop CATIA automation tools within 3DX, converting V5 User Defined Features, Power copies, and macros to 3DX equivalents.
    • Utilize EKL, CAT Script, VBA, and CAA/RADE to enhance CAD productivity and standardization.
  • Platform releases and operations
    • Lead 3DX minor releases and major upgrades: identify deprecated APIs, refactor customizations, plan and execute regression testing, manage rollback, publish change documentation and runbooks.
    • Provide Level 2/3 Tech support: triage 3DX incidents, perform root-cause analysis, implement corrective actions, maintain operational runbooks and knowledge base content.
  • DevOps and Agile delivery
    • Implement CI/CD for PLM deliverables using GitHub and Jenkins (build, package, test, deploy C++ libraries, JARs, and widgets); enforce code reviews, secure development, and automated testing.
    • Manage work in Jira: create/refine user stories and acceptance criteria, estimate and prioritize backlog items, and provide transparent status updates in an Agile model.
  • Collaboration
    • Partner with engineering design, manufacturing, quality, suppliers, and security stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable 3DX solutions.
    • Work with Program Production and Digital Transformation teams to identify process improvements and deliver measurable efficiency gains.

Qualifications
You'll have...
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science (or foreign equivalent) in Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum 10+ years in PLM/CAD software development and automation with a proven history of leading PLM interoperability, customizations, methodologies, releases, migrations, and upgrades related to Multiple PLMs such as 3DEXPERIENCE and Teamcenter.
  • Minimum 5+ years performing CAD and PLM interactions in the context of engineering data management (datasets, BOMs, metadata, lifecycle/revision control).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage workload in an agile approach and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, manufacturing, quality requirements, and suppliers.

This position is a salary grade 7-8 and ranges from $99,600-$192,900
Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
