The Learning & Development Director position is responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of training materials and programs for everything from new hire training to career progression training in a fast-growing, dynamic environment. You will deliver new hire and refresher training to one or more HUB programs; additionally, then you will coordinate the planning and delivery of programs that require SMEs/Specialists.


  • Plan the implementation and facilitation of training programs, material production and distribution for one or more HUB programs
  • Using established models, develop training materials and evaluation processes for new-hire, upgrade, and refresher training
  • Coordinate logistical support, course development, delivery, evaluation, process measurements, and cost management for program launch, as well as on-going training for assigned team(s)
  • Coordinate with the role’s supervisor in the development of strategic training plans for HUB team(s)
  • Communicates routinely with program managers and QA/QC to continuously evaluate the training needs of the assigned HUB team(s), and plans new or upgrade training programs
  • Plan delivery of new/upgrade systems training by coordinating with Manager, Technical Training or by developing/delivering the training for the assigned HUB team(s)
  • Analyze the need for additional training staff; communicate requirements with cost/benefit analysis to the supervisor
  • Hire and manage staff of Training Associates, provide performance feedback and conduct performance evaluations
  • Build solid cross-functional relationships within the company
  • On time adherence to training deadlines for all corporate policies and procedures governing access to confidential data
  • Ensure all SOPs are followed with consistency
  • Conducts miscellaneous tasks or projects as assigned

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience strongly preferred; and 3-5 yrs experience working in the pharmaceutical industry preferred
  • At least three years’ training experience required; with previous training leadership experience preferred
  • At least one year of Reimbursement Case Management experience
  •  Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to quickly develop strong working relationships with others
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive and ever-changing environment while maintaining enthusiasm while training
  • Ability to coach, counsel, and support the professional growth of a team of training professionals
  • High learning agility with respect to computer literacy, including competency with Microsoft Office software especially PowerPoint and Excel
  • Experience using Adobe Captivate to develop basic e-learning modules a plus
