Our client is revitalizing a legendary American automotive legacy by designing next-generation electric trucks and off-road SUVs built for adventure and innovation. On behalf of this trailblazing client, we are seeking an accomplished, visionary financial leader to establish and scale their commercial finance function from the ground up.

Operating from a collaborative, culture-first hub in Charlotte, NC, this individual will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial framework for sales, marketing, and brand operations during a critical period of hyper-growth. The Role As the VP - Commercial Controlling, you will serve as the strategic financial architect for all commercial and brand operations. This executive position sits at the intersection of business strategy and financial stewardship, translating commercial activity into actionable intelligence, rigorous governance, and long-term enterprise value.

Position Type: Full-Time, On-site (4-5 days per week) Location: Charlotte, NC Compensation: $245,000 - $297,500 base salary Key Responsibilities Strategic Financial Leadership & Governance Establish the Model: Design, implement, and oversee the overarching commercial finance operating model, ensuring robust governance and structured financial frameworks across all sales channels and brand initiatives. Guard Stewardship: Act as the primary financial co-pilot to executive commercial leaders, driving disciplined investment strategies while fostering a culture of fiscal accountability. Commercial Oversight: Construct financial governance models governing vehicle pricing architectures, promotional incentives, marketing expenditures, and large-scale retail investments.

FP&A, Reporting & Compliance Lead FP&A: Direct all financial planning, forecasting cycles, long-range predictive modeling, and scenario analyses to guide executive decision-making. Financial Integrity: Take ownership of the month-end close process, cost allocations, provisions, and comprehensive variance analyses to ensure total financial transparency. Corporate Alignment: Ensure seamless integration with corporate accounting functions regarding the P&L, balance sheet dynamics, cash flow forecasting, and regulatory compliance.

Systems Innovation: Partner with digital and IT finance teams to map out data pipelines and ERP system requirements for automated, scalable reporting. Team Building & Evolution Scale the Function: Design the organizational architecture of the commercial finance department, determining headcount needs, structuring teams, and mapping career paths. Develop Talent: Personally recruit, mentor, and elevate a high-performing financial team, including the development of director-level leaders.

Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related quantitative field. An MBA or advanced financial certification is highly preferred. Experience: 15+ years of progressive advancement within FP&A, business controlling, or commercial finance leadership roles.

Scale Expertise: A proven history of building, scaling, and structuring finance departments within complex, rapidly expanding, or capital-intensive environments. Executive Presence: Demonstrated ability to act as a trusted advisor to C-suite and executive-level stakeholders, blending strategic vision with hands-on execution. Technical Acumen: Strong proficiency with advanced financial reporting infrastructure, with specific, practical exposure to SAP S/4HANA systems preferred.

Authorization: Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring current or future visa sponsorship. Work Environment & Travel Location: This role is based on-site in Charlotte, NC, requiring a presence in the office 4 to 5 days per week to foster collaborative teamwork
