Job description

SUMMARY:
This engineering position is responsible to support product production in the plant and reports to the Plant Engineering Manager. The manufacturing engineer works both independently and as a part of a team to maintain and improve processes and systems used in manufacturing. In addition, manufacturing engineers function as specialists and subject matter experts for technical planning throughout the facility.
Salary Compensation: The compensation range for this position is $75,747 - $91,066 annually.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develops, improves, and monitors standards, processes, and performance to reduce costs and improve production operations
  • Analyze production data to identify bottlenecks, and drive safety, quality, throughput, and cost savings initiatives
  • Provides objective, functional, and financial engineering guidance on capital expenditures to site management.
  • Supports installation and implementation of capital expenditures.
  • Develop and maintain SOPs and Work Instructions
  • Provides lean manufacturing guidance to operations through coordination with the site Lean Manager
  • Investigate production issues using a systematic approach to root cause and corrective actions (8D problem solving methodology)
  • Other duties as assigned

KEY SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
Preferred candidates will have prior experience within a manufacturing environment, knowledge of lean manufacturing is a plus. Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of plant personnel. Demonstrate proficiency within welding and assembly processes, coordinating work activities and managing multiple tasks and priorities is a requirement.
