Position: Healthcare Planner
Location: Royal Oak, Michigan

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Healthcare Planner to lead programming, planning, and operational analysis for healthcare projects. This role acts as a key liaison between healthcare clients, clinical staff, and design teams to ensure efficient, patient-centered, and code-compliant facility planning.
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in healthcare workflows, facility programming, FGI guidelines, and occupied facility planning.
Key Responsibilities

  • Lead healthcare facility programming and space planning (hospitals, clinics, behavioral health, etc.)
  • Conduct operational workflow analysis, site visits, and stakeholder interviews
  • Develop functional space programs aligned with clinical needs and FGI guidelines
  • Coordinate planning across SD, DD, CD, and CA phases
  • Support infection control (ICRA) and occupied renovation planning
  • Facilitate user group meetings and client workshops
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, and medical equipment planners
  • Translate clinical operations into functional design solutions
  • Participate in healthcare RFPs, proposals, and presentations
  • Support healthcare planning standards and internal knowledge development
Requirements
  • 5+ years healthcare planning, healthcare architecture, or clinical operations experience
  • Strong knowledge of FGI Guidelines and healthcare regulations
  • Experience with ICRA and occupied healthcare environments
  • Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience working with clinical teams and healthcare leadership
Preferred Qualifications

  • EDAC certification (or in progress)
  • ACHA membership (or pursuing)
  • Experience in lean healthcare planning or patient flow optimization
  • Experience with SF330 or healthcare proposals
  • Experience with hospital systems or large healthcare facilities
Work Environment
