Job Summary

The HR Associate provides hands on administrative and operational support across core human resources programs for Textron's Corporate office. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently. The HR Associate supports employee lifecycle activities, onboarding and offboarding processes, compliance and recordkeeping, reporting, and key initiatives such as the Summer Internship Program and Leadership Development Program.

Responsibilities

  • Process employee lifecycle transactions (new hires, transfers, status/pay changes, terminations) with a high degree of accuracy and within required timelines; validate data and resolve discrepancies with HR partners.
  • Monitor and coordinate the onboarding process for new employees and transfers, including preparing new hire packets, processing required documentation (e.g., Form I 9), tracking background checks and drug screens, ensuring ID badge readiness, creating employee files, facilitating orientations, managing the orientation calendar, and assigning applicable Textron University trainings.
  • Support offboarding and internal transfer activities, including managing employee file movement, archiving records, and coordinating file retention.
  • Support payroll audits and manage other yearly corporate audits as required.
  • Maintain accurate HR records and ensure compliance with retention requirements, including routine filing, file audits, archiving, retrieval, and destruction of records.
  • Manage the Corporate HR Mailbox and coordinate communications from the Corporate HR mailbox with members of the corporate HR team.
  • Support the Corporate HR team with the summer internship program and other corporate office initiatives.
  • Support the Corporate HR team with internal talent review presentation creation.
  • Manage regular reports for the HR team.
  • Maintain and create, where necessary, standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all critical processes.
  • Ensure strict confidentiality and protection of employee personnel records and sensitive information.
  • Identify and implement process improvement opportunities to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and employee experience.
  • Assist with special projects and department objectives and initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:

  • High School diploma required
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
  • Prior professional experience in an administrative or human resources support role preferred
  • Experience with HRIS/employee data systems; familiarity with Taleo preferred

  • Excellent communications skills, including interpersonal and writing skills
  • Ability to build effective relationships and provide superior customer service
