Hybrid Onsite - Minneapolis, Dallas, Denver, Brookfield, WI

12 Month Contract

Position Overview

We are seeking a Lead QA Engineer with deep expertise in UI and mobile automation to drive quality strategy and execution across digital platforms. This role will lead a team of UI-focused automation engineers, ensuring consistency, scalability, and governance across web and mobile test suites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the UI and mobile automation strategy across OLB, CAS, and native mobile platforms
  • Mentor and guide senior, mid-level, and junior UI engineers across multiple delivery teams
  • Define and enforce standards for test design, execution, and reporting across web and mobile layers
  • Collaborate with product owners and developers to ensure testable requirements and early defect detection
  • Lead cross-browser and mobile compatibility testing using Playwright and Appium
  • Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and Definition of Ready (DoR) sessions
  • Support CI/CD integration and ensure automation coverage aligns with business priorities
  • Contribute to monthly governance reviews and continuous improvement initiatives

Required Experience

  • 8+ years in QA/QE with at least 2 years in a lead role focused on UI and mobile automation
  • Proven experience leading distributed QA teams and mentoring engineers
  • Strong understanding of test design principles, traceability, and defect lifecycle
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments with cross-functional teams
  • Financial services or regulated industry experience preferred

Tooling Expertise

  • UI Automation: Playwright (Java) for cross-browser testing, visual validation, and accessibility
  • Mobile Automation: Appium via Robot Framework for native iOS/Android testing, including biometric simulation
  • CI/CD Integration: Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps
  • Reporting: Robot Framework HTML logs, Allure, ReportPortal, Power BI dashboards
  • Test Data Management: TDP (Test Data Portal) for provisioning and conditioning

Soft Skills & Leadership

  • Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to drive quality-first culture and facilitate shift-left QA practices
  • Comfortable leading RCA sessions and contributing to innovation pilots
