NOW HIRING: Millerbernd Manufacturing is hiring! The Team Lead โ€“ Logistics provides daily leadership and direction to assigned logistics team members to ensure safe, accurate, and efficient execution of shipping, receiving, inventory movement, and material handling activities. This role balances handsโ€‘on operational support with people leadership responsibilities, ensuring productivity, quality, safety, and customer delivery commitments are met.

Job Title: Team Lead โ€“ Logistics
Location: Winsted, MN
Salary Range: $28.05 โ€“ 33.00 per hour (Non-Exempt)
(In compliance with Minnesota Pay Transparency Law, this range reflects the anticipated compensation for this role. Actual pay may vary based on experience, education, and other factors.)
Shift Schedule: Weekend shift Friday โ€“ Saturday 5am โ€“ 5pm
Shift Differential: Weekend shift โ€“ $2.50/hour

As a Team Lead - Logistics, you will:

  • Quality performance on the team
  • Workflow

  • Selection of the team members
  • Provide day-to-day leadership for the Logistics team supporting Transportation & Infrastructure operations
  • Oversee inbound and outbound material flow, including shipping, receiving, and internal distribution
  • Ensure orders are processed accurately and on time to meet customer and production requirements
  • Coordinate material handling activities to support production schedules and customer delivery commitments
  • Lead Tier 1 meetings and communicate daily priorities, staffing needs, and performance expectations
  • Train and cross-train team members on logistics processes, systems, and standard work
  • Monitor team performance; provide real-time coaching and escalate performance concerns when needed
  • Support workforce planning, including assigning work and addressing coverage gaps
  • Promote a positive, accountable, and engaged team environment
  • Act as the first point of contact for employee questions, concerns, and escalation needs
  • Ensure accurate completion of timecards and provide input for performance reviews and compensation decisions
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within logistics processes
  • Champion a strong safety culture within the logistics and warehouse environment
  • Ensure proper use of PPE and adherence to all safety policies and procedures
  • Train team members on safe material handling, equipment operation, and emergency procedures
  • Identify and eliminate hazards to maintain a safe, organized workspace
  • Report, investigate, and communicate safety incidents and near misses
  • Participate in Tier 1 and Tier 2 safety discussions and recognition programs
  • Complete required safety training, including OSHA 10 Hour
  • Support and track completion of safety actions and initiatives

Safety Expectations as a Team Lead - Logistics:

  • Be a safety champion on and off the production floor
  • Wear and ensure all team members wear proper PPE while on the production floor
  • Follow and enforce all safety policies
  • Train new hires on emergency preparedness expectations
  • Establish and sustain a safe and hazard free workplace through processes and procedures
  • Participate in safety recognition at Tier 1 and Tier 2 meetings
  • Report and investigate safety incidents and near misses; provide incident and near-miss updates during Tier 2 meetings
  • Inform team members of safety updates, processes/procedures, and policy changes
  • Onboard new hires specific to their role(s) and safety expectations; continue training with team members on their role(s) and safety expectations
  • Complete all safety trainings
  • Complete one (1) CI Safety Cards/month
  • Complete OSHA 10 Hour
  • Monitor completion of actions from the Safety Champion each week and provide updates during Tier 1 meetings

Role Qualifications as a Team Lead - Logistics:

  • Previous leadership experience in a logistics, warehouse, or manufacturing environment preferred
  • Experience in shipping, receiving, inventory control, or material handling operations
  • Forklift and/or material handling equipment experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of logistics flow, inventory accuracy, and order fulfillment processes
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, solve problems, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions, shipping documents, and inventory systems
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively across teams
  • Demonstrated ability to lead by example and build team accountability
  • Basic computer skills (ERP/WMS experience preferred)
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and business needs

Physical Demands:

This position requires the individual to wear and work in company-provided personal protective equipment (PPE). This position requires that the individual be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs. And, if applicable, can maneuver large, cumbersome equipment with the use of an overhead crane and/or forklift. Must be able to work in, on, or around equipment and machinery. The employee may need to perform work with the use of ladders.
