Job description

Position Overview:

The Technology Instructor is responsible for developing and delivering engaging, skill‑building technology workshops for youth. This role focuses on cultivating digital literacy, creative media production, and technical competencies through hands‑on instruction in areas such as website design, coding, graphic design, video editing, and computer applications. The instructor will also support youth in pursuing industry‑recognized certifications and contribute to the development and maintenance of the technology center.

Position Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED required, Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Education, Information Technology, Digital Media, or a related field preferred. Experience teaching or facilitating youth programs, preferably in technology, media, or STEM fields. Strong knowledge of computer applications, digital media tools, and basic coding or web design platforms. Familiarity with graphic design software (e.g., Canva, Adobe tools) and video editing programs. Ability to explain complex concepts in accessible, youth friendly ways. Strong organizational, communication, and classroom management skills. Experience with or willingness to learn about industry certifications (Cisco, CompTIA) is a plus. Valid NYS Driver’s License required.
