Grand Design RV is currently looking for an Electrical Engineer. As a Grand Design team member in this role, you will design electrical systems to ensure safety, quality, and value for our customers, associates, and vendors. The Electrical Engineer will update our base vehicle where it is ready to integrate next generation technologies and established fundamental electrical engineering practices. This position will work collaboratively with manufacturing engineering, manufacturing operations, product management, and the Advanced Technology Group to standardize the existing portfolio.

Key Areas of Responsibility
  • Designs and maintains electrical schematic drawings
  • Designs and maintains CAN capable wire harness assemblies, specifies electrical termination and installation components
  • Analyzes, evaluates, tests, and recommends electrical appliances, components, and configurations
  • Develops and trains manufacturing personnel to install, test and troubleshoot wiring and electrical devices
  • Plans and implements electrical projects focused on systems and related upgrades
  • Supports prototype builds to ensure designs are complete and manufacturing capable
  • Other duties as assigned based on business need
  • Partners and collaborates with Manufacturing Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, Product Management, and Advanced Technology Group to ensure a safe and quality product

Education & Experience
  • Practical application of electrical engineering science and technology
  • Ability to design and maintain electrical systems including CAN communication devices
  • Strong critical thinking, deductive reasoning, and problem solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to influence / motivate people in a team based environment
  • Ability to collaborate and partner with internal and external colleagues
  • Strong oral, written and presentation skills
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple projects and priorities
  • Desire for excellence with a strong attention to detail
  • Action oriented, self-starter, hands on person who delegates when appropriate
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and work in office and manufacturing environments
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, similar field or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years' experience in electrical engineering, preferable in electrical systems
  • Change Management/Facilitation experience preferred
  • Experience leading projects in a team-based environment required
  • 5+ years of durable goods manufacturing experience preferred
  • Proficient using SolidWorks, AutoCAD and Microsoft Office tools
