Commercial Landscape Installation Division Manager

Overview
We are partnering with a well-established commercial landscaping organization to identify a Commercial Landscape Manager to lead a high-volume, $10MM+ installation operation in the Charlotte, NC market. This role is a key leadership position responsible for driving operational excellence, financial performance, team development, and client satisfaction across a large and growing commercial landscape division.

This opportunity is ideal for a seasoned landscape construction leader who combines hands-on technical expertise with strong business and people leadership skills and is motivated by long-term growth and operational impact.

The Role
The Division Manager will oversee all aspects of commercial landscape installation operations, from project execution through financial performance and team leadership. Reporting to senior leadership, this individual will manage multiple concurrent projects, lead project management and field teams, and ensure work is delivered safely, on time, and to specification. Success in this role means building a scalable, high-performing operation while maintaining strong margins, quality standards, and client relationships.

The Landscape Division Manager oversees all commercial, residential, and irrigation operations within the Landscape Division. This role is responsible for managing daily operations, supervising field leadership and crews, and ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to company quality standards. The Division Manager drives efficiency, productivity, and profitability while maintaining strong client relationships across commercial and residential accounts. Responsibilities also include oversight of irrigation installation, resource planning, employee development, safety compliance, and collaboration with company leadership to support growth and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

  • Lead and oversee commercial, residential, and irrigation landscape operations, managing field supervisors, crews, schedules, and resources.

  • Ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to company quality standards.

  • Drive operational efficiency, productivity, and profitability across all landscape and irrigation services.

  • Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, varying in size and complexity.

  • Provide leadership and direction to Project Managers, Superintendents, Foremen, and field crews.

  • Establish and enforce best practices, SOPs, and quality control standards.

Technical Oversight

  • Review and interpret landscape and irrigation plans, details, and specifications.

  • Ensure proper plant identification, layout, spacing, and installation.

  • Oversee installation of landscape materials, irrigation systems, and hardscape elements (walls, pavers, concrete, and site features).

  • Oversee irrigation installation, and troubleshooting while ensuring compliance with safety and NC state guidelines.

  • Act as a technical resource and escalation point for project teams.

Financial & Business Management

  • Own division-level financial performance, including job costing, labor productivity, margins, and cost control.

  • Develop and manage annual operating budgets.

  • Analyze financial reports and implement corrective actions to meet or exceed profitability targets.

  • Partner with senior leadership on forecasting, capacity planning, and growth initiatives.

People & Culture

  • Support hiring, training, performance management, and development of field leadership and crew members.

  • Recruit, develop, and retain high-performing management and field teams.

  • Coach and mentor leaders to build depth and long-term scalability within the division.

  • Promote a culture of accountability, safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

  • Enforce safety policies and ensure compliance with OSHA and company standards.

Client & Stakeholder Management

  • Manage client relationships, resolve issues, and support customer satisfaction and retention.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, general contractors, developers, and vendors.

  • Participate in pre-construction planning, project handoffs, and issue resolution.

  • Ensure exceptional customer satisfaction and support repeat business.

  • Collaborate with executive leadership on planning, process improvement, and growth initiatives.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in commercial landscape installation.

  • 5+ years in senior leadership or division-level management preferred.

  • Proven experience delivering large-scale commercial installation projects.

  • Strong knowledge of landscape construction, irrigation systems, hardscapes, and site features.

  • Demonstrated financial acumen with experience managing budgets, job costing, and P&L performance.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to lead large teams and manage multiple priorities effectively.

Nice to Have:

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish).

  • Experience scaling or growing a commercial installation operation.
